As many are already aware, Fishing Cactus has scheduled a live online session about Creatures Online (formerly Creatures 4) for June 27th at 8:00 PM (GMT+1). This will be hosted over on Twitch.tv and is open to everyone available at that time! I spoke with a few contacts over at the company to confirm the following details:
- The format of the session will be geared towards feedback over the live game. This is not like our last Q&A session. Questions and comments should be focused on the live footage being shown. It's not a bad idea to have some questions handy, but please remember that the goal here is gather live feedback from the community to improve the game.
- The session will be recorded, but BigBen must sign off on having the recording posted after the event. If this does happen, it may not be the entire session, but only the most interesting snippets.
Although an official recording may not be available afterwards, that doesn't stop us from taking copious notes to share with those who won't be able to participate! Make sure to mark those calendars for this Thursday! |
GOG.com is offering 50% Off Creatures Games through to July 5! Grab Creatures: The Albian Years, Creatures Exodus or Creatures Village for just $2.99 each! This is a great opportunity to add more of the Creatures series to your collection.
Thanks for the tip, Silverpelt! |
As Google Reader is being depreciated at the end of June, Amaikokonut's Creatures Community Blog List at Naturing::Nurturing has been migrated to FeedStitch. Please update your bookmarks (and blogs)! |
We're all invited to join the Fishing Cactus team for a live session on Twitch.tv, on Thursday 27th June at 8 PM GMT+1! Be sure that you don't miss this opportunity to watch Creatures Online being played and give your feedback to the developers!
For more details, please read the full article on their blog. |
Two new screenshots from Creatures Online have been added to the gallery. One is a photo of a norn hatching and includes the UI for naming a new creature. The other slightly more interesting one shows the splicing machine. This screenshot shows a variety of new UI features in CO, including the buttons at the top left with norn emotions, the buttons on the left that perhaps advise the norn to do something, a messages button on the right (for chatting perhaps?), some new numbers and such at the top right. In terms of the actual machine, it shows a picture of the genetics and mentions to new norn breeds: Kabuto norn and Wilding norn. What do you guys think about all these new features? Feel free to discuss it in the comments section or in the forum thread. |
There is now a fifth drive for Creatchi called Energy. If a Creatchi's energy level falls too low, it will start to complain that it's getting sleepy. When this occurs you can put on the Creatchi item "sleep mask" and the Creatch will go to sleep. Once it's done resting, it will wake back up feeling better than ever. Sleeping Creatchis cannot be given items or socialized with. |
The forums have returned. Sorry for the delay in getting them back up, and thank you for your patience!
So please go discuss lots of fun things with your fellow Creatures Community members. |
The majority of the website maintenance was successfully completed today. The website was down for approximately two and a half hours. However, there have been some issues with exporting and importing the forum tables using phpMyAdmin, due to their large size. If anyone is very familiar with MySQL/phpMyAdmin, please send me a message.
Until the issue is solved, the forums will remain closed. Sorry for any inconvenience. |
In celebration of the release of the Centaur Norns V2, I present to you:
The Centaur norns Adult Pelt Pack!
Within are eleven (yes, eleven) brand new interchangeable sprites for your Adult Centaur Norns! [Download] |
The website will be going down this weekend, probably on Sunday, due to the fact that the host is phasing out MySQL version 4.0. Therefore all of the databases will have to be exported and reimported to a new MySQL database, which will take a bit of time.
In order to make sure no data is lost in the process, the website will need to be shut down for several hours or so. Please don't be alarmed if the website gives a notice that it is down, for it will return a few hours later.
Thanks for your patience and understanding. |
With the results tabulated from the first CCSF 2013 poll, it's time for another survey! The CCSF 2013 Theme Survey seeks to get an idea of the main overarching theme, while giving respondents a chance to suggest a single, specific theme. Make sure to vote! Every opinion counts and helps out. Depending on the responses, this might be the final survey... Or we might need one more to break a tie. Vote today!
This survey will close on about June 30th. |
The results are in for the first CCSF 2013 survey! With 50 responses, we had a lot of great input from the community. Take a look at the results and keep an eye out for the announcement of a second survey later this week! November might seem like it's a long ways off, but early planning never hurts when putting together such a big event. CCSF 2013, here we come! |
