Out with the old, in with the new! We now have a brand new messaging system here at Creatures Caves. You now start "conversations" with other users which have all of the replies together as an on-going thread. This makes it much easier to keep track of conversations that you may be having.
The "old" messages from the previous message system are available to view in an archive. You will find a link there from the new messages page. All old messages will be deleted on April 30th, so please save any important ones.
if you have any suggestions or comments, please post in the forum thread below. |
In anticipation of the up-and-coming new Creatures 4 game, we have opened a new Creatures 4 section here at Creatures Caves. You can find it listed under "Features" in the lefthand menu, or you may click on the large C4 banner at the top of the homepage.
The section features some game information from Fishing Cactus, screenshots of the game and promo images.
In addition to opening the new section, a new C4 forum has opened dedicated just to the new game. Please start posting away. |
Discover Albia is pleased to present CreatureLink, a new and unique community feature! The goal is to connect players and Creatures through generations. Browse through numerous Creatures available for adoption, and consider continuing the chain! In the future, adopters will have the opportunity to submit descendants and create a link between many Creatures. At the moment, only C3/DS Norns are available: However, C1 Norns will be added in the near future! Learn more about CreatureLink, and enjoy! |
Today, Fishing Cactus have released some concept art of one of the characters who will help us around Creatures 4 - the genial Master Shee.
Fishing Cactus have also confirmed that they are "currently working on the in-game science kit, the critters and plants." |

With a journey around Albia and a bundle of eggs, Jessica has now written 200 posts on her Creatures blog, Discover Albia.
Congratulations, Jessica! |
As of a few days ago, the warp has come back online! If you have a username, you can hop onto the warp directly - if you don't, unfortunately you'll have to continue using the offline options.
Live Nornish Action has also resumed its broadcast. |
GOG.com is having a sale this weekend which includes the Creatures games, selling them for 50% of the original price. This means $2.99 each!
These games will work on Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7, so if you've been thinking about picking them up, now is a great time! |
Presenting... the Creatures Community Advent Calendar! A new treat every day, for 25 days. View it here and check back each day for more things. |
Just a quick announcement to say that after yesterday's downtime, CC Chat is back online again.
See you all in there! |
Fishing Cactus has announced that Creatures 4 will be delayed until Q2 2012 - April, May or June, to allow them to refine the game further.
To that mind, Fishing Cactus have posed a couple of questions on their blog to the Creatures Community:
What is the coolest or the most advanced thing you've ever done, tried to achieve or wished you could do in one of the previous Creatures game?
Inversely, what is the most boring/frustrating/disappointing experience you had? |
Just a general reminder: while the server is offline, you can still play Docking Station by either installing C12DS, which comes with offline functionality, or use the DS Offline Option. |
Inspired by the CCSF, I'm planning a special project this December - the Creatures Community Advent Calendar! I'm planning to release one treat each day from the 1st until the 25th. I'd really love it if people could send in some little things for me to release. Anything you have that celebrates the holidays, be it a picture of your creatures eating some pudding, a poem, a snowy makeover for your favorite room, or whatever else you can think of, is appreciated. Please send them to ylukyun (at) gmail (dot) com by November 30th. Happy Holidays! |
I just couldn't sign off as the CCSF 2011 co-ordinator without leaving you with something very special! I know some of you have been waiting patiently for this since the festival began, so please get over to the CCSF 2011 website and enjoy our very last releases from the extremely talented Ghosthande:
Devil's Reef and the Deep Norns!
And as if that wasn't enough, Mea has donated a huge assortment of Ettins and Grendels for our final instalment of Adoption of the Day! |
Today is the last day of the CCSF 2011 - or is it? Hmmm... mysterious!
The first release today is soliloquy's Veridia metaroom, a gorgeous meadow filled with flowers and trees for your creatures' delight! Veridia is perfect for flying norns and wolfling runs, with its large size and multiple levels, and can be filled any which way you want. You can grab Veridia here!
Liam has released a super special extra agent for the Biodome, the Biodome Object Pack! Filled with a variety of flora and fauna, this pack is sure to help populate your world with life and make sure those norns have plenty to eat and play with. Check it out here.
Finally, Caotic has two beautiful desktop wallpapers for us! As a matter of fact I have one of them on my desktop right now, and my couldn't look more Creaturesy!
In addition to these awesome releases, we have three competition winners. Drumroll, please... the first is Jessica, who won the caption competition with her entry! Jodie won the cutest creature competition, with the adorable Yao, and finally, Nev won the Norn Breed of the Future competition! You can check out their entries here! |
We're getting close to the end of the CCSF 2011, but there's still fun to be had and releases to be released!
The first release on our list is the Cupid's Halo. Did you ever think one of your Creatures was just such a little angel, that you wished you could keep them around forever? Now you can.
Marvin42 has contributed a new genetic breed, the (very aptly named) Assassin Norns!
We also have some pretty fanart by sam999 featuring Christine, one of the adoptions of the day.
And speaking of which, sam999 and Lusewing have given us some great adoptions, so be sure to check them out too! |
