If you use an IRC client to access CC Chat, please ensure that you've changed the server address to irc.AlphaChat.net, within the connection settings, before connecting to #Creatures. It's come to our attention that CC Chat's other host, WyldRyde, has gone down and if you've tried to connect lately and received the error message 'Connection Refused' then this is why.
If you need any help, please don't hesitate to contact me. If clients aren't your thing, you can also join us via our web applet. Happy chatting!

This year, I'll be managing our booth with a little help from our KINECT-controlled Creatures 4 Norn to welcome you. Feel free to stop by booth #1334 for a quick chat.
Besides Creatures 4 (PC - MAC - iOS - Android), the only true genetics game, I'll have plenty of demo builds to showcase, including our latest Serious Games, our upcoming Casual Games for mobile platforms etc.
For more information about Fishing Cactus or Creatures 4, please visit our new website.
Hopefully we can count on some new information, photos and perhaps even videos being released during/after the conference!
Spykkie has posted a breed of Beastaurs she made for download. They occupy Norn Slot T, and are a cousin breed to the Centaur Norns. Like the Centaurs, the Beastaurs sleep standing up!
NOTE: The Beastaurs share the same lower body particularity as the Centaurs and might not crossbreed properly (Except maybe with the Centaurs).
As promised, Fishing Cactus have posted their much-awaited follow up to our Live Q&A chat session:
The Q&A chat session between C4 dev team members and Creatures community took place last Thursday 28th of February as scheduled. Over 60 fans attended and it was sure an epic chat, which we have very much enjoyed on our end.
Be sure to read the full article on the Fishing Cactus Development Blog and, as an added bonus, see their answers to the question backlog too!
The Centaur Norns hosted here at Creatures Caves have been updated by Spykkie! There's now an egg agent (thanks to Andrettin) and "a little surprise for everyone as well." Additionally, some people had trouble unzipping the files, so that issue should be fixed now. Be sure to check out the newly updated Centaur Norns today!
Last month, Fishing Cactus appeared on Belgian television to talk about Creatures 4 and today they took to Facebook to share a video of this interview, with added English subtitles! Just click on the Captions button and enjoy the guided tour!
The well-known Creatures Community blogger Jessica of Discover Albia has been running CreatureLink for over a year now, which was hosted by Creatures Caves here.
As of today, however, CreatureLink has moved to the main Creatures Caves website and is now more automated and user-friendly. Members can download two CreatureLink creatures (one male and one female), and then post their offspring to the website. The parents will be listed along with each creature, and the offspring will be listed as children on the parents' posts, ensuring that all CreatureLink creatures are linked together via the website. Siblings are also listed for each creature.
Once a user downloads a creature from CreatureLink, the download file will be deleted from the server and the user will be listed as the "adopter" for the creature. This ensures that each CreatureLink creature is only adopted one time by one person. It also allows the person who posted the creature to keep in touch with the person who adopted their norn, grendel or ettin from the website.
Please read over the resource article before adopting and posting creatures, and most importantly, enjoy this newly revamped service for the community!
Spykkie has posted a Centaur Norn breed she made for download. They occupy Norn Slot Q. The upper body uses assortments of Bruin, Civet, Fallow and Siamese sprites. Unlike other Norns, the centaurs sleep standing up!
Thanks to Don, the complete and unabridged transcript of yesterday's live Q&A session with Fishing Cactus is now available for those of you who didn't manage to make it, and for those of you who did and fancy another good chuckle. Speaking on behalf of the rest of the CC Chat team, we appreciate Fishing Cactus taking the time to answer our probing questions and the community's collective hard work and involvement which helped to make this event a success!
Follow this link to read and enjoy the transcript in full, and once again: well done everyone!
The live chat is now finished, and it was quite a success! Be sure to check out the live chat log that has been posted in the resources section (all the chitchat and banter was edited out, so you'll just see the actual questions and answers). Enjoy!
The amazing metaroom that everyone has been waiting for known as Ainarda, created by Merboy, has been re-released! Ghosthande has been kind enough to repackage it, making the installation much easier for people without Creatures programming knowledge. You may now download and install the metaroom if you were unable to do so with the original release. Head on over to the official download page to get it today. Thanks, Merboy and Ghosthande!
If you've had trouble accessing the official Creatures 4 website lately, fear not! Today Fishing Cactus have posted this statement, on their Facebook page, regarding the official Creatures 4 website's downtime:
Guys, we received a lot of emails from you about the C4 official website. We have informed Big Ben about the multiple downtimes (that we've also encountered numerous times). They are checking with the company who is handling the hosting if we can solve the situation (this might be related to a peak on the visitors due to the Q&A). We'll keep you posted.
We'll also be sure to update you here at Creatures Caves once the website is back, so keep your eyes pealed! Update: The problems appear to have been fixed and it's business as usual on the official Creatures 4 website!
For those of you who are on Facebook, you can now let everyone know that you are attending the Live Q&A with the Creatures 4 Developers next Thursday (02/28/2013) in CC Chat by joining the official event page! You can also invite some friends who may be interested in hearing about Creatures 4!
Spread the word! Can't wait for everyone to be there!
Fishing Cactus wrote: We?ll be holding a live Q&A session between game designers Andrea Di Stefano and Samuel Languy, from the C4 dev team, and you folks, from the vibrant Creatures community! You?ll get to directly discuss with them about the development so far, and about the inner-workings of the upcoming game. The event will take place in the CreaturesVillage Chat Rooms, also known as CC Chat, where most long-time fans of the series already have their habits. An active mIRC connection is required to attend. The dialog is scheduled on Thursday 28th of February 2013 at 7.00 pm G.M.T.
This is an exciting and rare opportunity, so make sure you get your thinking caps on and post any questions you have in the Ask Your Question to the C4 Dev Team topic on the Official Creatures 4 forums!
