@Allekha

Thanks Allekha. I'm glad you're still reading my series. [ngrin] Thank you for reading!

(Side note: Tribal Norns sound amazing; I want them so bad but the link is broken [nsick])

Can you put them all on Google Drive in a folder and share it with me? It would help alot. Thank you.

Roll Call
100 Natural Born Norns.

_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

So, if I said there were a lot of Brown Norns last time... it has gotten worse.

Every green breed part has been breeded out of all of the current Norns. There are a heck of a lot of Pixie Norn parts still around (No Pixie Heads), and there is the occasional Golden Desert Norn part. But, no Green. Not anymore.

Grendel Hell: The shaking ultrawallbonk.

I have a feeling that when bad Norns die, they go to a place filled only with walls to bonk into.

A belated post to say that I'm happy my altered norns seem to be working out just fine, and that I'm looking forwards to whatever run you do next.

Don't have much to say other than that, really.

@Grendel_Man

Glad to hear it!

@Allekha

Thanks for sending those. I have some more Creature Breeds to run now! ^-^

With that, I think I'll conclude the run. It has gotten kinda stale. Too many Norns. Which is why the next Wolfling Run will only have...

One...

I will make a thread about my modeling adventures! And as for the Chronicles cover, I don't think it would be too difficult to do, it's just coming up with ways to fill the space as a wallpaper that is tough. I definitely saw your post and was thinking about how I would go about it!

LOL that's probably why I have it as the embedded picture of the post. [nlaugh] I've never seen a wallbonk quite so extreme.

@Brynn

Thank you. The space would be desert; the picture is mostly a scenic thing. If you were able to recreate the picture in a wallpaper-esque resolution (Think flatscreen TV dimensions) it would probably look fine. It's also simple! [ngrin]

I don't believe there are any anti-wallbonk Grendels for C2... or improved brain grendels for that matter... Althought Boney Grendels are noticeably smarter, they don't have any additional brainlobes and wallbonk a LOT!

Anyhow, I made the supposed instincts fix to my breed, but I won't be able to test it myself until... Christmas, probably. At least not extensively. But once TDN is done with the Highla... I mean, the immortal Norn and his own breed, at least the next one is ready.

Greetings again faithful readers and lurkers! It's time for another Wolfling Run!

Now, I'm throwing a bit of a curveball this time. This one will be short and sweet? Why?

Because there'll be only one Norn.

A Norn said to hold... immortality.

I know this because a single tag in the description says it to be so! The description of the file omits it entirely. Well then [ngeek].

Meet Lesakh. She is a Cloud Norn.

Now, I have no idea if Cloud Norns are supposed to fly. I get the impression that they are supposed to based on the description. However, I have no Flying COBs, nor do I know where to find any. Huh.

So, this Lesakh is supposedly Immortal. What that means is lost on me. Perhaps she has an unnaturally long life span; or perhaps she cannot be harmed by not attending to her needs. I have no idea! Mystery wonderment ho!

_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
(I've decided to spruce up the newer titles a bit; mainly to look cool, but to also make it more obvious where a new Wolfling Run begins. Expect this to be a trend, improvements have been frequent as of late. I hope you guys enjoy the increase in production value.)

_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Here's to hoping that my new titlecards aren't against the rules! [nlaugh]

_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Lesakh, our Lord and Savior.
_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

(Maybe she'll be like that comatose god Norn Cathy from before!)

I'll update you guys once I import her.

Roll Call

_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Lesakh has made herself right at home, immediately playing with the dog toy. She has a full vocabulary, and loves to play.

She seems a bit opinionated about herself; she likes to say Lesakh Yes (As if she is affirming the positiveness of Lesakh).

_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Map <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Lesakh is an Adolescent, so she could breed with other Norns (If there were any [devil] Muhahahahha).

By the way, this is how she looks from the front. Cute Yellow symbol on her forehead.

_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Now... I realize that I have been rather unclear on a few aspects of this run.

Namely: Why am I doing a Wolfling Run with ONE NORN? Doesn't that defeat the purpose?

Yes, it does! Having a Wolfling Run with no aim is very much worthless. The idea of 'breeding strong Norns' is gone here; instead, this is just for fun. A little test to see if 'immortal' Norns are as 'immortal' as they are made out to be. It's a fun little distraction from the constant Wolfling Runs with massive crowds of Norns and bibble that makes me want to tear my ears off. Think of it as a Side Quest for a free-roam game such as The Witcher III or The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind.

That's a smaller map than usual!
Personally I think you should let her pass all the way to the musical instruments on the east and halfway across the bridge to the west just so she has some space, but that's just me, your choice obviously. Also, a source of water might be neccessary but Gimmecat has already solved that problem for you with a water fountain cob :D

Norns say "[Name] yes" generally in response / soon after receiving stimuli that sate their mental needs well, particularly Need for Pleasure. Norns with low need for pleasure that further lower that need for pleasure can be found saying "Lesakh yes", for example. When their need for pleasure is high, they'll say stuff like "Lesakh sad/very sad/extremely sad".

If she gets too sad and/or lonely you can always bring her the Ettin, I suppose! But I presume she won't due to genetics or stuff.

I will do just that! I've expanded the borders of her "travel-able" area.

Lesakh does seem particularly happy. It's neat to figure out what she's trying to say!

There is a water fountain and a fountain of youth in this run, so she has plenty to drink.

Lesakh aged from Adolescent to Youth; meaning that the 'immortality' bit may be a load of nonsense. Her forehead light is red now. Also caught in the act is her during one of the billions of times she says "Lesakh, yes".

Lesakh YES!

Luckily, the Dog Toy cures her loneliness.

She also tries really hard to grab this stupid thing, all the time. It's worse than some Norns and clouds. Norns are idiots.

It could be that she ages normally but lacks the gene to die of old age, possibly.
That, or whoever messed with her messed up, too.

And yeah, the instinct to push / pull EVERYTHING and anything when hungry, bored, or in need for pleasure can't really be helpful to Norn intelligence. Probably part of the reason why you like Akamai Cannies so much is that they do not have it.

Akamai Canny Norns are so good.

Lesakh's organs aren't looking too hot for an immortal Norn. Now, I am completely positive that Lesakh is taking care of her needs well; so short from her beginning to fade from old age, I'm not sure what the problem could be. She hasn't gotten sick. Oh, also, she is as old as elderly Akamai Canny Norns grow to be now.

Cloud Norns are broken. They are supposed to only have 3 life stages (Baby, Child and Youth), but...

It's like these Creatures 2 posters can't help but lie.

First the .exp poster lies about the Norn being immortal, next thing you know the Breed doesn't even work.

Wonderful craftsmanship, truly. [ngrimace]

Well, did her looks change again?
Because either the information is outdated or by 'three life stages' the author meant they have SPRITES for three. It feels like they do that sometimes.

By the by, did she die and you're sure she's not really immortal any longer, or are we just assuming?

I wonder if the "three stages" mean sprites and not actual life stages? (This is something that needs to be distinguished with appearance-swapping genes, because "four stages" could mean sprites for baby-child-youth-elderly and "five stages" is everything) Does Lesakh actually look different now that she's become elderly?

It would be a shame if she wasn't immortal and dies of old age. Maybe the poster tried to attach random tags to get more downloads :/

That ninja! Whoa. [nwink]

@Brynn and Venithil

Her sprites did not change from Youth to Adult to Elderly. They stayed the same. That must be the case; she must have younger-only sprites. A bit confusing, no?

She hasn't died yet, but her organs are deteriorating. We'll see. In terms of food, water, entertainment, et cetera she is perfectly fine. She almost always has no need prevalent on her status bar.

How is it possible that it's so hard to come across an immortal Norn?

At this rate I'll just download some Norn or another and make them double immortal.

Okay, I could probably try.

Want a Dewa Norn (Akamai Canny), Spotted Norn (JayD Canny), or Pegasus Ettin ('Modified' Canny?)
I only ever run the Spotted Norns but I'm farily sure they're not Akamai. Looked cute crossed with my Kannovas for testing though, pretty purple finally came out to the front. I won't have the patience to mess with pigment genes this time around, though.

Does the Create-A-Norn link posted a while back (which generates an .egg file) make it difficult to gene edit? It is totally possible to make an Akamai Canny Spotted Norn.

(Also, I forget if this information is readily available, but what is the difference between Akamai and JayD Cannies? is JayD "version 1.0"?)

Dewa Norn. I love the Dewa Sprites.

@Brynn

You can make an Akamai Canny anything. You could make an Akamai Canny GIL if you wanted to.

JayD has some edits that are well known as being good. Akamai Canny Norns were known as being perfect apart from not having these edits. That's why the Improved Akamai Canny genome (Grendel_Man) and the Ivrogne Norns (TheDrunkenNorn) both have JayD's edits.

I'm also convinced that JayD is the Creatures persona of J.C. Denton.

I wouldn't know anything about the create-a-norn thing. I mean, I can extract genetics from an egg file or just hatch the egg file and change the norn's personal genetics.

JayD made a set of anti-wallbonk genes that work for a Canny brain.

Akamai Cannies reworked all of the Norns' base instincts (similarly to what I did, but in their own way), to avoid them being rewarded for stuff that was absolutely useless to them and detrimental to intelligence in the long run.

So JayD is brain + anti-wallbonking.

Akamai (unless they had brain changes, too) is brain + anti-wallbonking (I... think?) + improved base instincts.

This time, it was mineself who was ninja'd.

Allrighty then. I'll try to pimp a Nornette of the Dewa persuasion tomorrow once I've woken up.

Are we talking... Deadpool + biology crazy prepared for every opportunity, and also can't-die-of-old-age immortal, or absolutely can't ever die period immortal?

I'd rather do the first one because it'd be quicker and less boring to play, I imagine.

Lesakh has outlived every other Norn I've ever had on this series by at least twice the lifespan of the average Akamai Canny Norn.

Most base genome Norns die very soon after birth. I don't know the exact lifespan, but it is less than 10 hours.

Akamai Canny Norns, however, have the boon of increased intelligence and better life support, allowing them to live a stable life up to 10 hours with no major brain issues. Very hardy Akamai Canny Norns live to be 15 hours.

Lesakh is 23 hours old. She isn't even Senile yet; she is Elderly.

One record this run holds is having the oldest Norn. Lesakh is certainly very interesting.

This is Lesakh's life gauge. As you can see from it, she seems to take care of her needs just fine. All that extra space to the right is where her prevalent need should be; however, due to the fact that she is fairly intelligent (and not distracted by other Norns), she seems to be doing fine. The Health Kit agrees on this point.

However, that is not the case. Just like some of the content creators for this game, Creatures 2 equipment has a tendency to lie to you. A Norn could be sick and dying, yet the Observation Kit will say Healthy, for instance. In this case, it is the Status Bar that is lying to us. The Status Bar tells us that Lesakh's vitals are fine and that she is healthy (For prudence, the Observation Kit also thinks she is healthy), however one dip into the Science Kit disproves that. Lesakh's organs are slowly failing, much like the natural progression of an elderly Norn. I predict that Lesakh will die during the night before I wake up next morning at this rate.

One thing that concerns me is her body. If a Norn's body fails, they become crippled, and they can't move without help. In a Wolfling Run, this means death by starvation. If her body fails, it will mean her death.

I engineered a solitary Dewa and sent her to the Creatures Repository as well as gave TheDrunkenNorn a link to her export file.

She's expected to be as immortal as a Norn could possibly be without it being obnoxious.
- Ages at least 4 times slower than a Golden Desert or Akamai Canny norn.

- She can't die of old age or become senile, only elderly.

- Has a stronger immune system, to the point the weaker Antigens (5-7, I believe?) have no effect on her whatsoever other than giving her antibodies.

- Toxins generally aren't as devastating to her and she gets more and more resistances to them as she ages. At Youth age stage she'll probably be able to eat deathcap mushrooms for breakfast and should survive mild to moderate cyanide poisoning.

- She has a hidden feature that would allow her to metabolize life chemical for herself, but at a risk.

- As I understand it, Devas are amphibious; past a certain age she actually synthesizes extra oxygen and energy if light is intense enough.

- Her ability to regenerate organ damage increases as she ages.

- She synthesizes her own vitamins.

- The above two should make her far less likely to die from organ failure compared to Lesakh above.

If she gets approved for Creatures Repository you'll find her by the name "Ameretat", after a Zoroastrian concept (and divinity representing that concept) of immortality.

Ps.
Grab a 'double immortal' Norn today!

"Double Immortal". This is what happens when you take your vaccines and eat your fruits and veggies. (Long time readers of this series, however, know that my diet is trash. I'm not fooling anyone :P If I die, expect either a) The Nova Subterra creator murdered me, or b) I have died to a heart attack, which runs in my family.)

Thank you for the norn post Venithil. I'm thinking I'll just have the next run be a "An immortal Norn on the side of another run" sort of deal. I'm not really looking forward to watching a single Norn walk left, then right, then eat, then sleep for eternity again.

Lesakh likes playing with bees. The punishment she gets from being stung by them does not deter her one bit.

Oh, look! A firefly. Maybe this one won't be cancelled like SOME FIREFLIES I KNOW. [nblank][ncrying][ngrimace][nsad]

Want to know how out-of-the-loop I am? I didn't even know it was election day today.

Lesakh finally died, after an hour of being "unconscious" (For those unaware, a Norn can be unconcious usually a minute before death). She definitely had some sort of life-prolonging done to her, but not enough to save her from her eventual death. She lived for 49 hours, over quadruple the life span of an Akamai Canny Norn, a decidedly longer life-span Norn than most Creatures 2 breeds.

Out here only the strong survive.
