I come here nearly every other hour! PLEASE don't close Creatures Caves! I practically live here! You can't force me to go back to rotting my brain on Neopets or waiting for signs of life on Venitell!

ps. I haven't played Monster Raannnrrrnnchhdoggy

Perhaps you can find someone to "babysit" your site for you, Rascii. I might not know much about managing a site (considering I don't own one), but maybe someone you know and can trust can have the site be put in his/her hands. I trust you'll make a good decision, Rascii. Everyone's looking at you to make the final choice (not to put pressure on you or anything).

Hawksight, there are plenty of people "babysitting" the site. They are called the mods, managers, and myself, the other admin. Rascii is hardly ever actually around, and the rest of us help manage it. That's not the problem. There are not enough people on the user level to manage over. There is little interest in the site, and hardly anyone - safe to say pretty much no one - plays the game anymore. Its not the money. Its the lack of interest.

The "rest"... Haha. Even the mods have lost interest. That gives you more of an idea of the sheer state of desperadoes this site is in.

I think the amount of mod activity reflects the member activity, and things have been fairly quiet on the Creatures front for a while. We really need to start getting more people involved again.

Hehe I'm still here as well and I'm about to re-install the Creatures games, now that I have a shiney 500GB external HDD

Over the last couple of years, I haven't been around very much and it has looked like the community is fairly quiet.

Roll on a new Creatures games and the community may be booming once more?

True words, Laura. Those are the only ones of higher rank than a member I've seen so far...

You guys are "babysitting" the site, but now I think that just gaining popularity (like ES or WS said) is what we should do. *goes off to spread the word about Creatures Exodus*

The one who returned.

See, a few years ago I was on this site, when the community was big. Creatures is a game you like, and then ignore for 3 months, find it and go, "Oh! I remember that." and get back into it.

Really, it's just a case of wating for the time the community kicks off again, which could be days or another few years. I mean, if a large forum finds out and gets alot of it's members on DS for example, there's a new community born.

It seems to me, it's worth keeping the site open, but on basics. Somehow.

I'm not a member of any other online community, though.

I think that those who are, though, can post the link to where you can download Docking Station in forums for people who like simulations rather than games you "win." Judging by logic, that would bring in an adequetly larger tide of new Docking Station players (and possibly new all-around Creatures fans).

Rats just Joined and the place might close... thats my luck

hopefully this place won't close, we need all the Creatures Community Sites we have for everyone to use newbies and old timers (no offense intended) alike..
I've been hearing about this place from other sites and everything I've heard was very good, ya the CC is smaller then it was things happen, people die.....sites close,people get angry and leave,hopefully we can get new people to fill in the gaps,but the one thing we need to remember CC will not die as long as there is someone who remembers the game and still plays it

Yeah, I saw that the domain expired and seriously considered leaving it that way. But I think there's a part of me that will never be able to let the site go down... it's my baby.

So it's back online for at least another year.

I need to find out why these servers load the forums so slowly, however. They were never like this until I moved to this host.

My position hasn't changed since I first posted in this thread: while I'd hate to see this site close, it's Rascii's site and I respect his decision to do what he wants with it. So, while I have no problem putting a link to CC on the dA account (and I was planning on doing that eventually; I'm somewhat annoyed I didn't create a section for Creatures Community links sooner), I'm not going to go as far as campaign for the saving of this site, especially when it's been renewed for another year. I don't want to badger him or the other admins here any more than necessary. :p

That said, if someone in the club were to create some sort of "save CC" image, I would have no qualms with putting it in the gallery so long as it's Creatures-related.

You have to be honest with yourself when you are writing. If that leads to somewhere unexpected then perhaps you really needed to go there.

And I know I haven't been on for a while, but I would've died if nothing had come up (and for a second, I thought nothing was going to).

So, how long has this post been up? Cause you guys are still around.

I have ways of attracting people to this fabolus place..
I hope it doesn't close for good, Even if you have only a year, A year is a limited amount of time.. It can go by very quickly. I know alot of people i could bring here to help bring this place back to life. You guys are syaing it's been dead. I havn't been around to say if it has or not, But i'll take all your guy's words as truth. You've been here, Not me.

Hi Everyone --

My name is Christopher Doyon, some of you may know me from the Gameware forums or elsewhere. I would like to make a couple of points. Not all of us "play" the game for entertainment. For myself it is one of the greatest platforms for experimentation in the field of Artificial Life. To be honest, I like the community small and cozy, it makes it easier to get through all the white noise. Who cares if millions of mindless pre-teens are playing or not ?

If this Site is so un-poular, and the community in such decline - then there should be hardly any bandwith usage at all. However, rather than see it die I would gladly adopt this Site. I have my own Apache Server and pipe.
