Now you should know why it uses the same sprite as the grendel jungle door - and why it doesn't look right in the release norn terrarium. They forgot to adjust the sprite when they changed the background. |

A black and white screenshot of the alpha version of Creatures, before the background model was created. I'm not sure where this image came from though I speculate that it came from a publication of some kind. Pictured is a newer build than the "Creatures Zero" that has been recovered recently. This image demonstrates what appears to be various mock-ups for the kits and applets that were being designed for what would become Creatures 1. It also depicts what appears to be the swamps of Loxley Mere, according to the mythography. I speculate that this area is what became the jungle area in the background model. I originally obtained this thanks to Norngirl, who had the image before I did. |
