If you've adopted enough creatchis, you should be able to move the mouse over the eggs and get a message that tells you what's inside.
I believe you need to successfully raise at least three creatchis to earn this ability, though; until then it's a matter of luck which species you get.

Ooh, so I need one more to have that ability. That is very handy though! |

Is it really three creatchis? I always thought you gained that ability after successfully raising one. Then again, I could be wrong! I don't pay attention to the idiocracies as much as some people do (I probably should). |

Hiho and hello. Just joined up on the forum and ended up getting a Creatchi.. Basically immediately. It eventually hatched into Snivler, an Ettinchi. I hope I did that link right. Anyway, hope we can all get along. |

The Creatchi Sheet should now be fully updated (although it's likely I marked a betrothed creatchi as "Single" somewhere). I greatly apologize for the massive delay; unfortunately I've been finding updating it to be a little tedious lately and so have been procrastinating on it a little.
As always, the link's in my signature.

Would it be ok to adopt a 1st gen creatchi without partnering it up for breeding? Just to have one to care for? |

Technically speaking you don't have to breed any creatchi you adopt; it's just preferred for highgens since a lot of the people who bred them would like to keep their bloodline going (myself included).
So no, there's no problems adopting a firstgen just to have. Heck, I've been considering adopting a creatchi just to have myself; this bloodline stuff can get really stressful at times.

Awesome, then I might pick a random egg later today It's nice to just have one to care for without the stress of finding a good partner once in a while |

Another note about the Creatchi Sheet: If your creatchi is alive yet not on the Creatchi Sheet, chances are they're senile and will be dead of old age before the day is over. This is just so I don't have to worry about them later (my memory is pretty horrible). If they're younger than that and still not on the sheet, then tell me since I probably missed them during the last update.
Also, the sheet's been updated again.

Double-post so this gets noticed:
Sapphire's going to be kicking it in three hours or so, and I'd like to adopt a high-gen female grendelchi this time. Would anyone be willing to adopt a firstgen to pair her with?
Edit: Never mind; wound up adopting another firstgen myself.

Not sure if this is entirely on-topic since all the recent posts are more about raising and breeding Creatchi, but will we ever have a chance to have more than one? I think something like 10 would be a little much but two or three would be great, it would give the highgen folks a better chance to keep their bloodlines going in case there is a period with fewer people raising Creatchi. It would also give the new folks like me a chance to be experts sooner

I think it might be suitable as a reward for extreme diligence (e.g. raising 15 Creatchis to old age ) |

Ooh I like that idea, ylukyun! It's an option that I wouldn't mind seeing in the future. It would add another dimension to Creatchi, and would also give us something extra to aim for.
Perhaps lower that number though; it would take forever to successfully raise 15 Creatchis in a row! |

I think the whole "point" of Creatchi is the raising your creatchi's with other people (Not saying I KNOW. I'm saying what I feel), but if people were able to raise more than one at a time, even if it were just 2, suddenly there'd be much less interaction and much more, "Looks how high gen is compared to yours lol you such". ..That's how things seem to go on the internet in my experience. |

The thing is though, your Creatchi can't socialize with the same creatchi twice in a row, need to socialize with one inbetween the two times So even if people can raise two at a time, they would still have to play with the others to help get social up |
Kimino394
|

Mm, but the question wasn't specifically about 2. Also, people would still probably end up breeding their own two creatchi together. I don't know, I don't like the idea. I'm new though, so. |

It's okay, everyone's entitled to their opinion! It's nice to see newcomers not shying away and taking part in forum discussions. And who knows in which direction the Creatchi feature will be taken next!
So far there seems to be a scarcity of potential mates for my male Ettinchi, Nanaki. Does anyone fancy adopting a female Ettinchi, with a view to pairing both of them up? |
Kimino394
|
3/18/2015 | |
And here is where that "two creatchi" feature would be useful, as I very much want to adopt my own ettinchi's offspring, who I THINK is a female. I can't remember. Oh well :/ |

Having the ability to adopt one's own creatchi offspring seems like it could potentially end up being a "protective" thing - "I don't want to share my creatchi offspring with anybody else." I can imagine it going the way of dog pedigrees, which makes me less-than-enthused.
Anyway, what sort of creatchi should I adopt? Last few I had didn't beget any offspring, since apparently there were no available mates. |

It's also worth knowing that adopting Creatchi offspring has always been on a first come, first serve basis. It's just fairer to everyone that way. On the plus side, it can be quite interesting to see how someone else raises your Creatchi's offspring: What background story they may invent for them, who they pair them up with, etc.
Ooh, cptmashek! Do you fancy adopting a female Ettinchi for my Nanaki to mate with? |

It's good to see everyone's viewpoints. Personally, I tend to think if you had two Creatchis, you would still have plenty of choices to make, such as do I adopt a mate or do I want to adopt the offspring? You couldn't be your own self-sustaining and totally isolated breeder. I just ended up with a male Grendelchi at a time when there appear to be a lot of those so I see how limiting it can be to keep those higher generations going!
On virtual pet games I have played in the past, such as Howrse, where you have the ability to have an unlimited number of personal pets (when I played it several years ago I know I had as many as 60 at a time), I still traded them constantly and had a group of friends I worked with for breeding new ones. Even the super breeders who were always breeding the very best horses worked in teams in order to get to their goals.
I suppose your mileage may vary as they say. but this community is so friendly I would be quite surprised if the social aspect waned It will be fun to watch Creatchi change in the future!

Sorry to diverge from the current topic but..
I'm planning on adopting another Gen 1 after my current creatchi passes away, but I wanted to breed them with another gen 1. My thinking is it might open up for easier color planning. I just think it'd be fun to finally see creatchi colors that haven't been obtained yet, like pink grendelchis and grey ettinchis or rare colors like grey nornchis, brown ettinchis and purple grendelchis. Thoughts?

Oooh that does sound amazing! How does the colour-thing work though? Is it random what colours the offspring gets? |

Nope! Usually, the offspring become a blend of the two parents. A red and blue creatchi are likely to have pule offspring, for example.

Oh that is really cool! I thought it was completely random xD Will definitely pay more attention from now on! And creating a purple would be so much fun too! Or pink :O |

That's a great idea, Kezune. My current Creatchi is about to pass away, so I can try for a particular color of a certain species and gender if it would help. If anyone is curious, here's the Wiki article on Creatchi which lists all the possible colors and how to get them. |

The numbers are nearly evenly matched and I can't decide on my next creatchi once Lakor passes later today, so I'm up for it. I don't think I've tried breeding for any specific colors in awhile.
From the depths of Deep Lurkspace I emerge... And suddenly can't remember what it is I came up for. |

Fogg made it to adulthood and is a proud parent with the lovely Tangerine
He's getting towards senile so I wanted to see if anyone wants me to hatch a particular species and gender from the available eggs.
