Fellow members of Creatures Caves, I've heard that the owner of Creatures Caves, Rascii, is thinking of shutting down the website (it would be a sad day if it would happen  ). We must try to keep this online community alive!I've had an idea: perhaps we can pay a membership due. For example: every year we must pay $10 to Rascii to keep this unique Norn Community running. I don't have the money to spare, and there's plenty of free hosts out there that are really good. The one I'm with provides 350mb! I hope CC.com doesn't get shut down, I've had a lot of fun posting on the forums here. |

Aaaah! Duck for cover! *chair flys over my head*. You do know you can express your own ideas. Rascii might be handling the sitch well, for all we know. I was just suggesting an idea for what we can do for Creatures Caves so that we can keep it on the web for as long as possible. You do understand...right? The wierd thing is that I just got 5 of my friends hooked on Creatures yesterday. Look, I'm not letting Creatures go like I did with the Lepitaurs. I did the best I could with Venitell, but Cyove and I couldn't carry the world on our backs like we might be able to with the Creatures Community. While Hawksight's idea might work, my parents would never pay for this! (P.S. You'd be surprised how n00by I sounded when I first joined two years ago.) ps. No, I'm with that KC11 dude. Seriously, think of how much us kids make, like minimum-minimum-MINIMUM wage for slaving over chores and stuff. I make 2.00 a WEEK when I don't have a neighborhood job. But if I may make a suggestion, maybe there could be one section of the website only for ads, with however many pages of them Rascii might need to keep the site up and running. Quick! Get the Pantreea potion! |

Iguana's idea is a reasonable suggestion as well. Plus EvilSpirit's idea of sucking people into Creatures might work too (I'm glad she put her plan into action already). I think that, if we all pitch in and share our ideas, we could keep CC.com running until C3 and DS are ancient! Woo!  Hawksight |

Wouldn't C4 coming out be awesome? Gameware Developement Ltd. might be working on it as I write this  ! If it were to get finished, then (like EvilSpirit said) we wouldn't have to worry about CC.com... *gulp*... well, you know.I agree with BonnieShee: Maybe the Creatures Community won't go down as soon as I feared . Already done; with no reply. Gameware is dying along with Creatures. I doubt it'll live to see a C4. And besides, at a glance, Gameware is nothing special. Really, I'm not so sure if they'll ever find a publisher. ps. I haven't played Monster Raannnrrrnnchhdoggy |

Did you check Gameware's website? Maybe it has email connections to contact the manager of Gameware. Perhaps we can write asking about any future plans for a C4. Or maybe they've posted ideas for C4 on their site! Chin up, everyone. I wrote to Gameware Development too! Maybe, if many of the members of Creatures Caves write a friendly letter requesting C4's making, then Gameware might think, "Wow! We never dreamed we might have this many fans! We should start making C4 right away!" No one seems to understand what Rascii has said. Or people refuse to listen. Money is NOT the problem. He can afford to keep the site up if he wants to. But the creatures community has been DYING for years. So he's paying higher rates to keep the site for four newbies and three oldbies yelling at them. And there will be no C4. At least not in the near future. for Gameware, money IS a problem, and the game is not popular or novel enough to get published. Its not Gameware, its the people at the game publishing companies that you need to write to and convince that there are still people that play creatures. And even then, you will never realistically have enough of a fan base. Enough meaning at least thousands of people. Its not realistic. We aren't yelling at Rascii, Angel. We just want to keep the Creatures Community from dying out completely. Is that such a bad thing? We only are communicating with each other for the wellbeing of Creatures Caves and all other Creatures Communities out there. Besides, wouldn't Creatures 4 coming out be like a dream-come-true? Its great you want to save the community. Don't let me come off the wrong way here. But. Rather than dramatically speechifying about keeping the dream alive and whatnot, the only thing you can do for this place.... is go and find some new members. Recruit. Because that is what we are missing right now - there's only a handful of active members and few if any of them actually have any interest in the games. Most people just come around for the forum of JRC. Its just that we oldbies (I've been in the CC for six years and many people have been around MUCH longer) have seen and heard it all. Everyone says "we must save the community!" And no one does anything. The games have no support. There's nothing new from them for about seven years now, other then the company transfer and free lifekits. And realistically speaking that is not enough. Most people who were once regulars have... well, grown up. And many probably won't come back even if new games come out. You can hope to appeal to new people perhaps, but not many are interested in non-violent games than you can't "win". So many of us have just accepted that its been dying for years now. Slowly and painfully, but there hasn't been much to bring it back. We've even had numerous Creatures Spirit Festivals and whatever and even they haven't helped. It's very sad that what you're saying is so true, angel, but it is. I believe there will always be die-hard fans. This game is easy to create content for and creative types enjoy that, and the rest like free add-ons. But I don't think the CC will ever be as big as it once was. Times change. People get busy. New games come out.Those that -would- have gotten excited about the Creatures series will go for newer things like Spore, Viva Pinata, or Zoo Tycoon 2 instead. ?Love is the Fire of Life; it either consumes or purifies.? |

I prefer to think that we can accomplish whatever we put our minds to, at least until we know that there really truly isn't any hope. For example, Sonic games had lost ground for many years, but have experienced a renewal of interest. I intend to keep trying. I've got friends playing it, and it sort of draws people's interest to say that in the game you play, well, G.O.D.. It's also like a computer Sim, like Sim City. Those games are popular, too. If some of us introduce games like C3 to our friends, we might be able to suck people into the ways of Creatures. Hawksight |

I've been in the CC for two years and nothing much to save the community (exept for CCSF 06, man, what a party! They never even got to finish posting all the downloads!) has happened. Hearthlight is right. People are falling for Spore and Viva Pinata when we're standing over here rotting and they're having a "10,000 hits" party. I'd know. I watched the Furby phase come and go, and, here I am, buying a used one on eBay right now. You'd probably say I need to get over it, that Furbies are dumb and old. EvilSpirit haha, you said it! Yes its true, some people catch on late. I started playing C1 when C3/DS was out already. Then again, I'm just now gaining an appreciation for classic rock and the Beatles. That's how something becomes a cult classic. Creatures is totally a cult classic. Unfortunately its hard to revive a cult classic unless someone "big" discovers it and appreciates it. Someone with a lot of money and independent connections. Good luck. Yes, I'm the forum ... Maybe we could email gameware and tell them we love creatures and we'd hate to see them go. Maybe gameware could advertise it more in the usa. Here in the US we live for video games.  |

You know, there might never be a C4 but there could be a third party C4! We could make our own Creatures game and have a huge online fanbase, just like free games like Runescape, etc. I'm helping Grendel Hunter out with CFG right now. |
