We Want Your Feedback Sophie | 11/6/2013 | 1 | Hi Creatures Community!
As some of you already know, while working on our beloved Creatures, Fishing Cactus is also working on a "coding game" which is more like "programming logic game". Anyway... We can't finish that game and we will launch it on Kickstarter pretty soon (actually we are waiting for the Amazon validation) but before it we just launch a signup page that explain the game and what will be improved with the Kickstarter. So, if you could check this out it would be great. Also, if the game is of interest for you don't hesitate to signup and share and you will get an email as soon as the game hits Kickstarter:

Thank you for reading! I am waiting for your feedback. |

Don't worry about your english Sophie, talking slow was the right thing to do. It really helped get passed the accents.

Just saw it. Thanks for the feedback. Yeah the final joke wasn't on the script I wrote first :-(
I wasn't channeling Carrie Fisher, not on purpose. but I think that it can come from years of Star Wars watching

Aww, I liked your part, I thought you were channelling Carrie Fisher! I've left a fuller comment on the Fishing Cactus blog, I hope that's ok.

Malkin: just click on the video to watch it on youtube and it should be alright
And don't laugh at me because my part is awful. I don't know what was the problem with my hands and they asked me to talk slowly for the non-english speakers... So, I sound silly.

It's seemed to go on and off - I still haven't managed to watch all of the video. I did get a 'C1 start video meets Pixar' feel from the start, though.

Uselessboy : no worries we understand :-)
You can see what kind of game it is by watching the video at 2:10 on http://signup.fishingcactus.com
In a nutshell it's a game that makes you use logic. It teaches you concepts such as loops, variables, conditions, functions and the set theory.
Malkin : what about now?

Is it just me or has the signup site stopped working?

That Algo-Bot reminds me for the python module "turtle"...
Not bad, though. I like turtle

I have to agree; just debugging can really save a game on the eve of it's release; but I have to admit, it's been slow on the screenshots and artworks, and I'd love to see more of it, even if it's just screenshots of norns being cute and doing stuff.
I also have to admit that I was sort of looking forward to the Beta, and it's a shame it wasn't released.
It kind of comes off like slacking when such things are announced and sort of disappear over time, even if you're working really hard, and I understand it all. (I know you're all working really hard to get it done on time, and I really appreciate it) but from my own perspective it kind of feels occasionally asif the company gets distracted occasionally, despite the steady stream of debugging reports and stuff.
I don't mean anything by it, and I appologise if I rub people the wrong way with saying it, but I felt it had to be said, as a bit of constructive critique from an outsider.
Other than that; what kind of game would this coding game be? can you go a bit more in depth on it? but I did pique my interest quite a bit and it might even help future devellopers to understand the coding language easy from what I've read so far, so I'm curious; what would the game look like, and how would it work?

No problem Sophie, I know the video game industry is still a very mysterious thing for a lot of people. It used to be mysterious for me when I was a child, but it makes a lot more sense when you know more about how it works.
For those interested: While some debugging happens naturally as a game is programmed, the most concentrated debugging period is actually at the end, just before release. With a game has complex as creatures, which even has artificial DNA, debugging is especially important to insure things run smoothly for the players after release. So the fact they are working on debugging the game is a very good sign and it makes me happy.
