Cat Norn Experiment
SpringRain

Well, I don't know if it's that important to be posting it here...but my little experiment with the adorable cat norns failed! :( I'm kind of embarrassed actually. I in-bred them too much (silly thing to do...) and the last pair of Norns I ended up with both had lots of things wrong with them. They would die as soon as they reached youth, wouldn't rest or eat and when I checked in the advanced science kit, it looked like all of their body parts were just breaking down for some reason! Also, strangely enough, it was only the females that could breathe underwater...all my guys would drown. Well, I guess I'm back to square one. I decided to breed Snowfairies and Mernorns together, because I think the mix would look pretty. Then again...I read there can be problems trying to mix water breathers with land dwellers...wish me luck? ^_^

Are we talking about C2 or C3 here? I can't speak for C3, but in C2 mixing mernorns with anything was a pain unless they had that lifeball thing on them all the time.

Sorry to hear your thing failed. What was the goal?

Yes, I'm the forum [devil]... Any questions?

Rascii: You make my life difficult, angel.

If you are talking about C2, one of my favorite norns is a Mernorn/Angel Norn mix; the goal was to breed a flying mernorn. Unfortunately he can't actually live in water (though I think he does fly... I'll have to pull him out of export again to check), and I think he has his own fair share of horrible mutations, but he made it to adulthood on his own so I must have done something right. :p

In general, though, I think you're going to have a very difficult time crossbreeding anything with the mernorns simply because their genome is so different from a standard norn's respiration-wise.

You have to be honest with yourself when you are writing. If that leads to somewhere unexpected then perhaps you really needed to go there.

Poor little Cat Norns. :( How long did you have the Wolfing Run for?

Wow! I didn't expect to recieve so many kind-hearted replies! ^_^ Thank you everyone.

angel51431: Um...I was talking about Creatures 2 Norns. :) You're right about mixing the Mernorns with other breeds being difficult! Lol. I did give it a try though. I ended up with a really nice looking Norn that had Snowfairy head, tail and body with Mer arms and legs. However the problem arose (I was sure that one would!) that he could only make it to child life stage and not grow past that. So I couldn't see his full form in action, which would have been lovely! *_* Oh...and my goal was to have smarter Norns (Eat well, sleep well...) who had interesting mutations or just had something special or out of the ordinary about them. ^_^

EttinLover: Yes, I remember her. It was Gelia wasn't it? I put her up on the adoptions page too. :) I'm glad they did so well in your world. I hope her children are doing well too! Thank you for taking such good care of her and for your kind words. :D

Officer-1BD1: Your Mernorn-Angel sounds so cool! It's a shame he ended up with horrible mutations, poor little thing. Otherwise I'd want to download him for sure! ^_^ That's good advice though. It's one of the other reasons I wanted to try crossbreeding them, because it's such a challenge but then again, I don't know if it's worth it when they usually have to suffer so bad.

C-Rex: Umm..I had it just going continually for a couple of months. (It's how I like to play with my cuties!) Sometimes I would go in and play with them all, other times leave the game running for a few hours and come back to check on them to make sure they were alright.

Anyway, I'm going to have a really hard time playing with any of the Creatures games for now because the old computer I had them on jsut died on us! *cries*

I'll have to find another way! I will somehow. In the meantime I'll just check back at CC occasionally and keep up with all the exciting news. Lol
