To help remove some of the off-topic weirdness that's invaded the "Most touching moments" thread, I figured I'd make a "silly creatures moments" thread. I thought maybe we could talk about silly/weird stuff here, and save the other thread for cute stuff. Seems only fair.
I'll start off with something that happened with a grendel of mine. When I found him, he had somehow found his way into the Norn Meso, and had just spotted the heating pan. There were about six eggs there (my Norns were breeding like crazy at the time) and he made a beeline for them. He walked up to the egg nearest him, picked it up, and did a very lively Egg Wiggle. Then he set it down, took a step forward, and did an Egg Wiggle with the next egg. He was very thorough: he danced the Egg Wiggle with all six eggs, in sequence, progressing from one side of the heating pan to the other. When he finally reached the other side, he was so tired from all the dancing he'd just done that he immediately fell down and began to snore. It was hilarious to watch: I'd never seen a grendel be quite that thorough before.

Um, well, in Creatures 2 I recently had a Norn named Akito who I was trying to train to eat well. They can be really difficult and play around a lot, so it took me quite a while. He was making no progress at all and not improving much until after I tickled him for eating a fruit and - he suddenly got it! Well, at least I thought he did. Suddenly he was eating fruits like they were going to disappear! He ate the good ones, but then he ate the maroon spiky fruits that made him stumble around, then tried to eat plants, his toy ball, his Norn mate Asardine and everything else in sight! It looked like he learned 'eating is good so - eat everything!' I had to laugh though. Aki was such a sweet heart and kept his good eating habits right to the end. "Eat ball" was how he played with his favourite toy and I think Asardine knew he liked her even when he said "Eat Norn".
I'm so sorry, I know I have been posting a lot lately, but something pretty silly happened to one of my Norns last night and I wanted to share it. My Cat Norn, Gloria, died after straying into the dark blue ocean while I was busy looking after some others. As I finished writing a few words for her, I clicked on the rubber dingy to send it back to the right side of the sea, where it was supposed to be, to catch leaping Norns. She just happened to be floating serenely by when it caught her, snatching her out of the air part way along - and sent her flinging off out of the world faster than I have ever seen any Norn leave it before! The little indicator 'halo' was flaoting above her head and everything. Usually I watch them float up, trying to tickle them goodbye, but this time I didn't even have time for it. It was so funny, I really couldn't stop laughing. She must have really wanted to go out with a blast!
I'm back after 11 years. Holy dooley! |
