Neon Zebra Trouble

Well, my Neon Zebras don't cry wolf (that sad whimper) but many of them do go around saying "ow!, Ow!" and I can't figure out why.

When checked, they are completely healthy and the hoverdoc shows no pain. When asked 'hurt' they reply "me intensely well" or some other such response...or something completely different, such as "me hungry for starch"

I also have noticed that the ones who cry "Ow!" throughout their lives usually develop it around youth or teen life stages and that it sometimes goes away when they become elders. Also the ones who say it often deteriorate in condition, forgetting how to eat, sleep and play with toys...eventually dying.

Maybe I should upload one here for someone to take a look at. Any Norn doctors available? ^_^

Well I'd need the Neon Zebra sprites to look at them, and I don't have them :(. But you probably should post one on here for another to look at.

What are neon zebras in the first place?

I have no idea... Probably a breed. I'll look on the CWiki, see what I can find.

If they are over gen1 it could just be a mutantion, if so just let the ones that can't take care of themselves die then the badly affected ones won't be there to make babyies.

When life hands you rocks, you throw them back
When life hands you tubas, you mistake them for rocks

Yes, I think Norngirl is right. They are probably a genetic breed.
And yes, I also think Pirate is right. It might be a strange mutation.

Thank you for all the helpful comments everyone! ^_^

Ha ha, Norngirl you are right.

The Neon Zebras are not actually a breed that someone created. (So I don't think they're on cWiki...) They are a group of normal Zebra Norns that a friend and I were playing with and raising on Docking station.

We wondered if we could start to get coloured Norns just by breeding them over time and shared any we thought were starting to show colour mutations through the warp. Eventually, sure enough, some of them in my friend's world and my own, started to show colours. There were neon green Zebra Norns and neon red ones. At first it was just the males who were coloured very light green or red, but now I have coloured females too and the colours are nice and bright. Occasionally some of them have Chi Chi parts but that isn't very common. They are pure bred in my world as far as I know.

Some of them also satisfy their nutritional needs in odd ways, like eating fruit to reduce hunger for starch. o.O

I have uploaded several of them on the Creature Repository under tags like, neon, zebra, green, red and norn.

That isn't odd. Fruits deliver a bit starch, food a bit protein and seeds a bit fat as extra to the usual stuff. ^^

Oh, so if they are starving for starch and eat lots of lemons to fulfil that, then it's normal?

Thanks, I didn't know that. It just seemed to work really fast when she ate the lemons. Lol.

Well, it works in normal cases with about the half "speed" than the main food. The main things give around 25 points. The secondary hunger drives they satisfy with round 12-14.
