I've been trying for ages to get my alien norn female to mate with my estrella norn male, but no matter what I do they "kiss-pop" without the female getting pregnant. I've used the breeding kit agent, the cupid's lyre, tomatoes, and still they won't breed. I even tried introducing another male to see if there was something wrong with the estrella, and the alien female won't breed with him either. Any idea what's wrong/what I can do?

Set an Ultimatum! "In 10 minutes I have at least 1 egg of you 2, else you will die!"
Sounds strange, but sometimes it even works when you say it to your PC...

Else you could try to get started with DDNA Bank or the Inseminator. So after about 5 generations they have to breed naturally, else you set again an ultimatum and start again after it.

The inseminator or the DDNA bank sound like they could work. Maybe give them a try!

Where would I get those agents?

I like the Inseminator, it's easy to use.

It sounds like it's the female who's got the problem then - either she's completely infertile or she's simply unable to become pregnant. Have you tried using using the HoverDoc on her to check for anything unusual?

Yeah, the hoverdoc doesn't turn up anything odd. In fact, her "friendliness" drive will go up when I use the aphrodisiacs, but nothing ever happens. Thanks for the suggestion though!

Sex drive really doesn't matter, what you'd be most interested in is oestrogen (the light blue line). If her oestrogen levels are consistently low then it doesn't matter how friendly she's feeling, she'll never conceive. Normal oestrogen levels slowly fluctuate, sometimes being high and sometimes being low.

If that seems normal you should also check her progesterone levels (the yellow line). If they're consistently high then she's got a genetic defect and won't be able to breed naturally. Progesterone shouldn't be present in a creature that's not pregnant, it should just be a yellow line on the bottom of the chart.

If she's got either of these problems then agents like the Inseminator could be a way to get around them, although I wouldn't really recommend breeding a norn with such a detrimental genetic quirk/s.

If she's got none of these problems then I'm not sure what's wrong with her. Maybe you should post a copy of her up for others to have a look at?

Well, as far as I can tell her oestrogen and progesterone levels are normal. I'm going to upload her file in the adoption section. The norn is named Saturn. Thanks to all for your kind suggestions, and if anyone would like to take a look at Saturn, please let me know if you find anything unusual.

EDIT:
I can't get a link to the page, but right now Saturn is displayed in the new download section on the home page.

She just got pregnant after just two kisspops in my game :P

I used the Hoverdoc's increase adult fertility on both her and the random male, just because I couldn't be bothered waiting, but she didn't seem to have any problems in getting pregnant and laying the egg.

I'm not sure why you're having so much trouble getting her to breed in your game. She's only one hour old so there's no rush, I'm sure if you just give her and the males a bit of time you'll soon have more babies than you know what to do with.

Hmph. :P Well, thanks anyway. Can't believe...selfish little bugger...stupid norns....

:D

Thanks for trying her. I guess I'm doing something wrong. Ah, well, live and learn they say.

Are you sure it's just that particular norn that won't get pregnant? It may be that something's gone wrong with the creature breeding scripts in your world. You might try exporting and reimporting the creature, or create a new world and try importing her into that one.

Sometimes a new world can change everything. After reinstalling DS I was not able to use anything in the Comms Room. When I installed some more required librarys, it still did not work.
Then, without doing any changes to the system, I made a new world and voila, it worked.

I think you should make a new world as
Amaikokonut suggested.

I think I'll try that. Thanks Amaikokonut and Papriko for the suggestion.
