I recently started playing Creatures 2 again after many years. I can't get any breeds to work that use a .exe to install the files. An error message comes up and the application just freezes. Kai Norns, Spiked Norns, etc. I can only find .exe files. Is there a place to get the actual files to place into corresponding folders? Or is there another way to get these to work? You know, there is a good chance that it's just a self-extracting .zip. Those were all the rage back in the day. It gets some extra instructions where it should try to unzip itself to, basically. Anyway, if you have a tool like 7-zip, you could try to just right-click the .exe, and "open with". If you get an error message, tough luck, but you might actually see the file contents. What error message comes up? If it's referring to cmac.16, you'll need the Creatures 2 Community Edition Patch from here. |
