| Features we wish C4 would have... | |

I was a tad bit disappointed in the livestream but I feel like the end product may not be so bad. But I also thought "What other features could C4 have that would make it more interesting?" I thought:
-Disobedient norns
-As little control as possible
-Essentially a 3d version of C1
based a bit on a comment I posted somewhere on the forumn just curious on other ideas people might have that may be highly unlikely to end up in the game but would make the game better |

I do have to say that I think allowing us to drag and pick up Creatures right away in Creatures 3 decreased my enjoyment of the game significantly.
Creatures 2 will always be my favorite. They seemed the most alive to me, and I prefer the C2 world over that of C1.

i loved creatures two i think in my opinion it was the hardest out of all the titles so i'd like it if it was a little more difficult in creatures 4 then what they have shown |

I think the challenge of trying to get the Creatures 2 norns to find and push the 'implements' (as I remember them being called) was definitely a great aspect of the game.

mine just kept walking into a part of the wall in the beginning area and would automatically turn around if i tried making them walk into a pipe that lead to the swamp
it all just seems to automated like you could literally go and make a sandwich and you wouldn't even have to touch the mouse. i know that is what we do with wolfing runs but its nice to be able to have interactions and stuff |

I think some of the things that could be present in Creatures Online were ettins and grendels, because, even though they can be annoying, they added one certain aspect to the game

Fishing Cactus have already stated that Grendels and Ettins won't be in the initial release of the game, but will most likely be released later as addons. |

@rascii you couldn't pick up creatures roght away in c3 only if you had docking station installed you could pick them up right away. In c3 you had these weird thing your norns had to interact with in order to do that if i remember it rightbit was in the fish tank room.

One of those pickups resulted in me killing a few norns.....
I'm hoping for player made content not being too hard!

I hope that we eventually get to see how they plan on these Grendels and Ettins to look. Though, I'm kind of scared of what direction they go for Grendels with the style they are using. |

Ooh good point. I worry especially because I understand we haven't even seen any grendels or ettins yet!
The grendels could even border on Zerg levels. Maybe.
Grendels were always reptillian like, and norns were mammalian, or a sort of ape like. I think the team is going even deeper into the looks, as we've seen with the Norns, as they look 'more real', and such.

Ettins better be more insectoid, or I will flip a nutritional plane.

'more real' isn't always best. I mean, look at sims 3. All the sims are horrible, ugly plastic creatues as compared to sims 2 with zero personality because they tried that out. I swear every single sim looks the same to me. In sims 2, even the identical twins could look drastically different if you just use a different hairstyle..
Edit: Sims in sims 3 are often called 'pudding faces'. I don't think C4 is that bad, but I think the norns could look a lot cuter and pay more homage to C2, perhaps. |

I think the Sims 4 is a better comparison to C4
As they both hit the 'uncanny valley' WAY too hard.
Or more the uncanny value of bad.
Also, I don't think more insect looking ettins is a good idea
I view the Grendels as the ones that would take any insect qualities
Ettins are more, hard to put on a life type

Creatures Online just commented on a Facebook post:
Creatures Online has been created to be available on different platforms. The reason for launching the iOS version first are simply technical challenges with converting the game into Flash. As soon as there is a proper iOS version the devs will concentrate on the browser version - so don't worry about And with the iOS version even more players will be attracted to the Creatures franchise.
The game isn't a simple "coin farming" game, this is just one feature of many. This feature ensures that you can reach all the ingame-content by just playing the game. I think the population limit is a balancing issue and the game isn't completely balanced yet. So please don't prejudge such things before the iOS version, which also will be adjusted by Community feedback, has been launched. And to just ensure this as well: Creatures Online definitely is another chapter
If you have more feedback/questions don't hesitate to poke us |

"browser version"?? Does that mean it's actually played in a web browser rather than installed on the computer?
I have to say, I'm really shocked to hear this...

I'm seriously disappointed. That pretty much dashed my hopes of it not being another lousy Facebook-style game. |

I've posted a response to this comment on Facebook to see if we can get any other information. Part of me thinks it's a translation issue, but if not, that's a rather sneaky way of changing the PC/Mac version of the game. I haven't been a big fan of the requirement to be online all the time, but turning this into a browser game is something I had not expected. Very disappointed if that's where they're going... Particularly if they're sort of hiding this fact.

I sincerely hope it isn't a browser-based flash game. I just don't see an accurate genetics model being made in flash.

the one big thing love about the Creatures game is the Community and all these Community based Projects, Agents, Species, etc... but with C4 / CO beeing a "Browser Game" i fear that the Abbilitys to do such things will be much more limited....
I thinkt i will stick with Creatures Dockingstation then...

Yup, using the DS engine and your multiplayer client we can do quite some new things. If we really had to, it could serve as a kinda Creatures 3.5
The full potential of agents hasn't been explored yet either. Computers keep getting faster and even though DS can only use 1 core, it still gains performance through it. Agents which used to be unbearable ideas due to using way too much capacities become realistic projects now.

Camera panning would be awesome, though we're stuck at one viewpoint and the ability to zoom. |
