General Forum What can I do with my CC-related domain?    Geek Ettin eprillios        6/15/2013 I own the domain CreaturesCommunity.net, but there isn't really much there at the moment... I do want to keep it, though. I really want to do something good for the community, but I don't know how. Does anybody have ideas? Chances are you'll end up working for one."   Bifrost   6/16/2013  1 A tip would be to find a colour scheme you're comfortable with, and use that all over for your layout. Right now, there are many things going on at once, which makes the site a bit hard on the eyes (personally, I'm no fan of the diagonal lines in the background). But your site has a lot of potential, and the sidebar makes for easier navigation. You can implement the chat directly on your site, you know. I agree with you that the site is not exactly colour-coordinated (especially the colour of the left sidebar is too bright), but I used the colours purple and yellow since I started the site years ago. I wanted to avoid the colours blue and green, because these were already used by CCaves and CTopia. I don't know of any other good colour scheme, so suggestions are welcome. I quickly added a link and banner to CC Chat yesterday, but I was planning to integrate it in my site later on. I'm not a fan of tables for website layouts, but I'll look into how I'm going to do it with divs and CSS. Again, thanks for your suggestions! It's cool to have the different game sections, and host the chat (thank you ) but ideally you want something to bring users to your website; a feature that the other CC websites don't already have. If you can think of something different, that could help. I know that's kind of tricky now though, when Creatures Caves practically has everything and is continuing to grow! I'll post back if I can think up any ideas.   Bifrost   6/16/2013 How about something that ties the community together; a list of community web pages, with basic information on each one, as well as what they have to offer. Bifrost: Thanks for your suggestion. I forgot to to ask about the diagonal lines on the background. Also, I find having an animated background quite distracting. Otherwise, it's starting to look pretty good. Suggestions for content: Community news, blog roll (with snippets of latest posts), links database with a popularity contest showing the most visited sites that week, competitions that can be voted on, a section for fanfiction, a section for comics, hosted blogs, a user submittable website clipart section, some sort of system for coordinating affiliates (ie you advertise a person's site, and they do the same for you.)   Geek Ettin eprillios     7/26/2013 I know this topic didn't have new posts for some time, but I'm still working on my website and I thought opening a new topic about it would be worse than just posting in the old topic. I'm looking for the hi-res versions of the game logos and promotional images (like this and the image of a Bengal Norn in the Creatures Caves logo, but bigger). Preferably transparent and in a lossless format (not JPEG or GIF). I know these are hard to find, as I couldn't find them on Creatures Wiki and Google, but I believe they must be somewhere. I've found some of the pictures I've been looking for! They weren't transparent, but because they have a solid background I could easily convert them into transparent ones. If anyone wants them transparent, feel free to send a message. By the way, I'm still wondering where I can get hi-res version of the game logos, like the one for Creatures 3, but for the other games.
