It's a hot day in the Aquatic Terrarium, the coconuts are cracking, the waves are crashing, the crobsters are... um... crobstering, and your Norns are in the mood for a beach party!
What kind of foods, drinks, toys, or anything else would you provide for your Creatures to have the perfect beach party? What are your Bondis hankering for? If you could give your Norns anything for their beach vacation that doesn't already exist as an agent, what would it be?
Yes, I just might have development-related reasons for asking this... why do you ask? ![[nwink] [nwink]](/images/smilies/emot_wink.gif)

Although possibly a little complicated for an agent, a little volleyball set might be cute! When interacted with, the ball would fly over the net to the other side. Granted, it would land on the ground every time... But for one brief moment it would look like a volleyball game!
Sandcastles would be cute... Maybe even edible ones that didn't offer much nutritional value, but which could have little bites taken out of them from time to time. Or sand piles that slowly turn into sandcastles each time a Creature interacts with them.
Some type of seagull or other bird would also be cute! Doesn't necessarily have to fly, but seeing a little gull traipsing along in the sand would be neat.
Beach towels, umbrellas, buckets, shovels, inner tubes, surf boards, and seashells also come to mind. They could just be for decorative purposes!
Were you the one who designed the Halo helmet that was wearable? If so (or if you're familiar with the coding) maybe some type of wearable straw sun hat or baseball caps would be cute to outfit those Creatures hanging out under the sun!
Pardon the crazy rant there... I suddenly had a ton of thoughts related to Creatures on the beach!

I've seen norns hit balls mid-air, so honestly I think a volleyball might work, especially if it got surrounding norns a need to "push toy" - And if the net actually worked as a portable wall, so not only does the ball bounce off it if hit, but the norns keep on their team's side. That would be entertaining!
A gull would be cool too. Especially if it ate detritus, but that would require a beach with enough food laying around.

A sandcastle vendor, which works in a similar way to your Ice Cream Machine, in the shape of a bucket and spade? |

For some reason after reading your comparison between the ice cream machine and a sandcastle vendor, I felt the sensation of chewing sand and had the taste of sand in my mouth. *shudders*
Anyway... I'm all for a sandcastle vendor! Awesome idea.

It would be a fine party until the grendels showed up and kicked sand in everyone's faces.
Which is why we need a Steve Reeves brand beach-side weightlifting set! Our boys can pump iron under the admiring gaze of the girls, and if them grendels show up, they'd better watch out!
(The Steve Reeves brand beach-side weightlifting set is not guaranteed to increase muscle mass, and my not be of any help in the event of an actual grendel attack.)

deep fried crobster stick vendor! you get people selling bits of crabs for people on the beach or pickled eel. coconut drinks could be cool too if it hasn't already been done
maybe some new kinds of fish and then can be used with the fish egg vendors? |

Trash! Every beach around here has trash. It would be perfect for toxic norns. It doesn't even need to be trash - just bits of things people normally leave behind, or bring.
Random bags of chips, toy shovels, towels, sea glass, glass bottles, beach bags, sandals, fruit snacks, random toys in general, seaweed that's washed up, sunscreen bottles, water bottles, lost clothes, sand of course, etc. From a vendor. Each does it's own special thing and has it's own qualities. |

Maybe it's just because I've just been eating but my mind immediately jumped to food! Watermelon slices or fish'n'chips would be fun. I like the idea of having gulls as well (especially if they can whip fish'n'chips ). I would suggest crabs, jellyfish and sharks but I think they're covered already?
Jessica mentioned decorative items like seashells - these would be great, as would seaweed!
How about a message in a bottle? It could be interactive and teach creatures a word when used.

Beach grass and flowers. You know, the kind that grow in sand? Oh! And a tide pool populated with little clams and shrimp and snails and things! And of course we need a little grill to cook these things on...
Besides trash, other things that wash up on the beach include broken bits of glass that have been worn smooth and driftwood. |

Well it would be funny if norns could wear grass skirts, but fish n chips and takeaway food are always good plus a few cans of soda. |

Everyone has really good ideas! How about a giant watermelon that you could crack open, sort of like the traditional beach games in Japan where one splits a watermelon open blindfolded with a baseball bat? Obviously the creatures could just pick up and drop the melon though.
Small bird who lives here sometimes, and wanders other times.

Building sandcastles... What about getting actual sand-castle elements and you can really stack em up, e.g. like the C3 blink-light-box-thingies?

Such cool ideas. Maybe a cooler that dispenses soda and emits cold? When the sodas are finished, they leave behind soda cans. Maybe there could be a bag that dispenses towels (toys). It also gives snacks. Once these snacks are eaten, they become detritus (empty wrappers). Finally, some Shee sunscreen. A potion that cools creatures down if they get too hot (the beach in summer, after all, is a hot place)
For all that trash, there could be a trash can to dispose of it in. After all, you might not want to leave it around for your non Toxic norns. Maybe there could be two versions: trash-producing kind, and non-trash-producing kind, so people can choose and not be irritated at having to constantly throw things away.
