I now have a website at:
https://sites.google.com/site/ettinalabs/
I've posted two norn experiments I've done, and I have more in the works that will be posted later. I'm trying to do experiments with norns using the same precision and statistical techniques as real scientific research.
By the way, I don't care if anyone steals my ideas for their own work, as long as you don't try to stop me from making my own stuff. Many ideas I mention are things I don't have the time or skill to actually do. |

Great!
How did you decide if a norn was 'nearby' another for the first experiment?
Playing with a world which included more livable metarooms (set up with CA travelling and food sources) may also improve the results on their ability to approach and retreat from creatures, as the creatures would have more space in which to spread. I'd be interested in seeing this done with the Gizmo Norns, who have some navigational tweaks to their systems.
As the levels are CA linked by the cos file ca lift linkers.cos, norns will be able to sniff out another norn even across levels - and loneliness and sex drive encourage them to approach/push/pull norn at these times.

I had a number of set locations, which I list in the article, and if two norns were coded as having the same location, they were considered near each other.

So if they were within reach of each other, essentially?
I like the way you're applying real statistical analysis to the norns.

This is precisely the stuff I love to see!
