This is a topic about the fine art of mollycoddling! Feel free to answer the questions or not; it's mostly for fun. =^_^=
Are you a molly coddler with your Creatures? XD
Are there any mollycoddlers in the Creatures Community besides me (SpringRain)?
Also, how do you mollycoddle your favourite Norns?
What sort of tolerance do you have for weak or fragile Norns that need extra care?
How do YOU mollycoddle? Post your replies right here!
Edit: Or...even though that's a lot more morbid, how you do NOT. XD

Ha! I mollycoddle norns! Here's the sad, egotistical bit though : its usually the ones who are quick to respond when the hand says something :s I bring them toys and yummy food and keep hitters away.. |

I love mollycoddling! I try to treat all my Norns equal! If a Grendel comes along or if I hear a sneeze then hyper active life saving mode comes on! I like to treat them with honey and take then on boat rides! And sometimes... I tickle them for trying to push me!!! ^~^

This one time, I gave one of my Norns a toy to play with. I'm such a softie.

LOL.
I don't mollycoddle Norns, they're my guineapigs. But I do usually keep a Grendel around whom I spoil rotten--bringing him food when he's hungry, bringing him toys when he's bored, bringing him Norns when he's--well, you get the point. ![[evil] [evil]](/images/smilies/evil.gif)

Hahaha, I actually don't mollycoddle much either, when I think about it. I mean, I try to make sure that they have access to sufficient vendors, teach to talk, and then that's about it. Except for my Sabertooth Norns...I really like to play with them and lead them around.

I don't usually mollycoddle my creatures. I leave them alone and occasionally inject them with ATP decoupler XD Sometimes I will slap or tickle one a lot to see how it reacts.
I did once do that to a Grendel. I think that I even created a sterile mate for him, so he could kiss-pop to his heart's content for a bit, then killed her when he got overcrowded. I probably had a norn or two for him to beat up as well. But it is very rare that I will do this, I don't really see the point. |

I should really post a reply in my own topic, shouldn't I? XD
With many Creatures, I treat them too 'soft'. Lol.
I bring them food, toys, vendors and put safety measures up to prevent Grendels attacking or the Creatures drowning. Basically, I try to make sure their every need is met so they all stop complaining and wander around happily playing and socialising...and making me cute families! I don't want a single one to die a painful death, although becoming ill is permitted so long as it benefits them in the long run. Usually I hover around trying to make them eat and sleep, inject them with various things (with silent apology for all the needles) and help them get well. The Grendels, I give their own food and toys, gadgets to smack around and a cat scratch post to calm em down. With Ettins, I make sure to put button and door hiders in the aquarium to stop them drowning in their quest for gadgets and I put food vendors and toys in the desert. I make sure to go and find them and drop them back home if they are wandering the ship with a gadget and try to heal them because they get sick a lot. (And pass it on to everyone else, no thank you!)
I also hover around checking every creature on board the ship or in the world I am playing and see if they are alright. If it's C3/DS I'll ask them 'happy' to find out how they are, if it's C1 or 2 I check their needs and drives in the doctor's kits. If I end up with too many creatures to monitor and watch over then I export some and either quietly delete them (I feel like it's way kinder since they are a file in a folder like this. XD This is what I do for seriously ill Norns such as sliders) and more often than not, I'll make them an entire new world and shift them over there. Although another method I use is to make sure all females live somewhere in the world and all males somewhere else. Then they just die of old age.
Also, with female grendels who become pregnant in C3, I try to make them lay their egg quick before they die, using a caos cheat. Save the eggy!
So, there...I'm mostly hopeless with just letting them run amok on their own. I have to go interfere every now and then and 'save' particular individuals from nasty fates. And so, I guess that is why I haven't held a wolfling run yet either... ^///^
@deadhumourist: Ohh, so you not only mollycoddle, you use favouritism-coddling! Lol.
@scoota94: Aww, the trying to push the hand is cute. I sometimes start tickling them and then realise the little ratbag was actually slapping me. :S
@AquaShee: Your kindness is overflowing! XD I am sure that it must have been a really good toy.
@Ghosthande: Well, Grendels need mollycoddling too! ^_^ They're happiest beating a Norn sometimes but I find it hard to watch.
@Rainbowcat1: Leading them around on a stroll is sweet. <3 So long as it's not into the pirahna pond. O.O
@Melody: Grendels and Ettins deserve love too.
@ylukyun: Wonderful! A fine example of how NOT to mollycoddle. Everyone interested in such things, please follow ylukyun's lead! (XD)

What an interesting thread
I do actually love coddling my creatures in my pet worlds-- the problem is, especially in DS, there aren't enough threats and dangers in the world for me to really have much fun with it-- it seems like they're pretty much in paradise already. So my idea of "coddling" is actually to introduce as many dangers into the world as possible and then do all I can to protect them from said dangers, or create a very fragile genome and try to get it to survive to adulthood. I don't suppose that's really true coddling though.
When I really just want to spoil creatures to death though, I go play Creatures Village. Nothing like stuffing norns full of cake and cotton candy, then letting them ride the roller coaster six times, and all those other silly cute things CV is capable of. It really is the ultimate coddling experience.

@scoota94: Lol. Mollycoddle queen? Ah ha ha! XD (Also, I am very flattered but no one needs to bow to me! o.o ^///^; )
@Amaikokonut: Hey, that sounds like a great way to coddle them. It makes things more fun having challenges and dangers. And inspires the writing of fanfiction.
Technically scoota94 and I are doing the exact same thing by trying to create the new fragile Norn breed which we are still deciding on a name for. XD They need LOL to survive. (Lots Of Love).
Aww, I've never played Creatures Village but it sounds really cute. <3

Haha, I had CV when I was little, and I loved mollycoddling in that, it was a nice break from C2 where it was nearly impossible to keep my norns alive. (and which also had some glitches) I agree with Amai that there are not enough dangers in DS to warrant mollycoddling. I try to block the water in the CoC rooms so they don't dye by drowning, but besides that there's pretty much no danger.

There wouldn't be much to see in the regular science kit, only the neuro one. The CV AI is pretty great, AL not so much.
If anyone wants to look at a CV genome, I can post them, BTW. Interesting to inject one or two into C3/DS and have a play.. they are basically immortal until they die of old age at about 2 hours. |

i hatch 4 male, 4 female, take the best care of them ever, then leave them overnight and they all die.
