Anyone still play DS?

I remember back in the day you toggle online and almost immediatly your "norn inbox" was crammed full of creatures from like 10 diffrent people.

Now I go on and am lucky if there is even 1 person online. In 1 month of playing I did not get a single norn sent to me and none ever got anywhere if they warped.

I have no idea if this is due to timezone diffrences or if everone just quit playing, those days where fun as heck, it was always a surprise to see what you got sent to you and fun to jam the Norn Inbox with around 20-50 or so norns and push the "send to random" button (Now I know how they got to me)

This was easily the funnest game in the series cause it really did have a sense of "Alternate Realities" like the game's plot was trying to convey.

I know plenty of people still play DS regularly, but I think quite a few of them just don't really use the online feature anymore.

I'm one of those who doesn't really tend to use the online feature. If I do that I get sent a bunch of random Norns that I don't want. ;)

I play DS quite a bit but mostly don't log on as I keep getting grendels that kill all my norns and mess up whatever wolfing I was doing.

Wow got alot more replies than I thought it would, I guess the Creatures community isn't dead after all, I thought it died after I saw the Gameware forums where down.

LOL, I think I might be partially responsible for that, I used to be notorious for sending soo many norns soo often people constantly messaged me about it, I thought it was the funniest thing ever(I was like 9 back then)

Maybe it's just nostalgia speaking because I don't do it anymore, I learned my lesson after people started just cloning norns by the dozens and sending them to me like crazy on purpose, now I know how they felt!

I would be online quite often, but I just made a distribution update. Now I have Karmic Koala. There got a certain library DS needs replaced with a new one that DS can't recognize.

We'll see us when I am able to install it from the software sources of the older version of Ubuntu ^^

I'm almost never online because there never seems to be anyone else online. :P

Plus most of the time I "play" in test worlds which are just going to be deleted later, so making contacts/accepting Norns in those worlds probably isn't the greatest idea.

I play it online sometimes but after seeing this I think I'll go online more often. :) I like playing DS with other users online, sharing Norns and chatting.

I did have a huge list of contacts for one of my DS worlds but sadly, it got lost when my world crashed. The list made it easier to see when others were online.

I'm back after 11 years. Holy dooley!

I rarely play DS online - you're more likely to catch me online towards the end of the month, when we're not trying to preserve our downloads as much. The Who's Online page and the Add Friend pages make it easier to find out who's online and to add them to your contact list. (Although I don't think it mutually friends you to them when they connect next.)
