Creature Memories

I was just reading that C3 Norns get cloned when they are imported into a DS world and I started to wonder about something. Now I'm curious to find out:

Do Norns or other creatures remember the experiences they have had and the things they've learned in previous worlds or circumstances with other 'Hands' before they come to you? Also, how much of it would they remember or do they 'forget' things over time? And one more question! If you export them and then re-import them, do they keep all their memories of where they were/who they were with etc. last or lose some as a result of that?

Is there a way to test a Norn's memory capabilities? It might be an interesting test. :D

That's very intresting. I never thought about that before. I would guess the easiest way to test the idea is to make a creature become bitter enemies with another creature, than export him and then import him back in and see if he remembers being enemies with the other creature. That's just a thought though.

Hmm, well... with the social network and memories I am not sure, but when you import a Norn and it is going to clone, it says anything like

"It's history gets deleted and it gets renamed, but it will stay absolutely the same creature"

I think you would need CFE to test that correct. If you teach "normal" ones to hit each other they would probably attack all kind of Norn...

You don't have to teach a Norn to hit other Norns, though. Mine, at least, do it all the time. Just decide they don't like somebody and start wailing on them. Then the other Norn complains for 10-15 minutes about how much they dislike the other Norn.

Thank you. Those are some good suggestions. :D I'd probably be more inclined to make the creature good friends with another one or have a child that they 'love' and test out whether or not they remember them after a while, rather than having them be bitter enemies with someone. (Simply because I don't really like it when one of my Norns goes beserk with hitting and goes a bit overboard. XD) It's just, sometimes when I received Norns through the warp when I had DS installed, they would have this weird behaviour or they would say they didn't like the Hand, things like that. It just made me wonder what had happened to them before they came to me and if they remembered any of their experiences.

Somehow I doubt that norns are that complicated :P

Yes, I'm the forum [devil]... Any questions?

I don't know. I think I read something somwhere that said they can remember things. I guess they sort of have to a bit when you teach them words and what food is for example, otherwise they would forget what they learned as soon as you taught it to them. They probably aren't that complicated (I mean, they're Norns! Lol) but I thought it would be a fun idea to look into. ^_^

*I can probably re-install my games in May, so I think I'll test out my theories then. Yay! XD
