General Forum Name Changing   1 | 2 | 3 | 4 angel51431        9/2/2007 I'm putting this in general because it applies to a very wide audience and I want everyone to take note. It has occured to me that a lot of you guys like to change names on a whim lately. here's the problem - its ANNOYING. when you guys change names without making some sort of formal announcement or without mention of your previous name in your signature or profile - get this - no one knows who you are all of a sudden. Especially if you change your icons! Maybe your close buddies know. but everyone else does not. And its a bit awkward for the mods, seeing new names pop up with high post counts, talking as if they are regulars. Because we really have no clue who you are. We don't know what kind of history you had at cc.com, what kind of warnings were recieved, etc. If we reeeeally needed to track it down, it would be possible but inconvenient. At least I have no idea who the name-changers are, and that's enough for me to scold about it. Don't make my life hard, people! Not that I'm saying everyone should start making new topics about "Hey I'm so-and-so now!". No. But the least I ask is that you put a note in your signature or profile mentioning your old nick. Actually as long as we're here, I'd like to ask people who have changed their nicknames to please post what they were previously, so that we can keep track of who's who. And please mention it in your profile and/or sig. Unless you did it for privacy issues, then PM please. thankyouverymuch. Yes, I'm the forum ... Any questions? But I like how the name KC11 looks. I doubt I will ever change it. Unless of course I really want to celebrate something. It used to be a whale with the letters "kill" - courtesy of Rasc. Then it spontaneously changed into whatever it is now and i never actually did anything to change it.
