This all sounds exciting, but I'll just stick to my horrible, mutated monstery norns
I hope your idea comes out well! |

Orkins?
I mean do any of you remeber the series Mork and Mindy?
Mork was alien whose species was born out of a very large egg as 'old' and as they got older, they got physically 'younger'. Their Elders looked like children and their ancient looked like babies.
I do not know the actual name of their species. My sis suggested
Orkins, but I am partial to Morkins.
They could be made a geat so that they don't breed with norns, and I suppose there could be an agent that detects a chemical in them, so that when they die, they are 'ressurected'. The agent acts like an exclusive egg maker and makes another 'backward' creature.

Hm...
Well, I called them Elsewhere norns because of the story Elsewhere, where a girl dies and finds that "heaven" is where you age backwards until you are a baby, when you go back to earth.
But most people probubly don't know the book Elsewhere, and Orkin Norns does sound nice.
Anyway, I'm glad this topic didn't die anyway.

hmmm, I'll have to look that up.
Its is no problem to switch the sprites around it just means renaming the sprites and att files.
The part about making a new creature once a previouse one dies is more complicated, but certainly possible.

I think this is a good idea.
In some religions, dead things get reincarnated. Also, The Sims has ghosts...
It would work as an agent I think.
When the body disappears, it leaves behind a skeleton and a ghost. Ghosts wander the world using movers (like doozers) and other things like that. They grab agents and bring them to the crypt. If the creature died of abuse (high "wounded" they will grab other creatures, put them to sleep, and carry them to the "crypt" area.
If they drowned, they spawn water animals, like sharklings & piranhas, wherever they walk.

Wiimeiser, you should look if the topic is still alive before you post. The last post before you is from 3/23/2007...
But you can see it in the headline of each reply.

I think the topic is okay to continue, and has enough potential for further discussion. It seems a lot of thought and detail has gone into Wiimeiser's reply, unlike other topic revivals where the poster doesn't have anything significant to contribute, so let's give it another shot at life and see what happens. We need more active Creatures related discussions in this place! |

Duly noted and unlocked.
(BTW Win, I was shooting the topic, not you, since this topic was from my early days at CC, which I wish would die. But your post has great merit, and so I will sacrifice. :> )

Hmm, as a simpler agent than the aging backwards norns idea, this could be very good. An agent that actually helps norns around. Of course, this agent could cause the game to go very slow very fast, what with the number of norns that die and all. So maybe they should dissipate after a certain amount of time?
