This wasn't touching, but it was pretty funny. I injected a Norn into my world and all of my Norns began to chant, "Me hate Kindness" (the Norn's name). It was kind of funny, how that sounded over the screen; like they were rebelling against being good little Norns and were being drawn to the side of evil. XD

Earlier today I was relocating my Norns from one side of the C1 world to the other (this is C1 in DS). I picked up this little female Emerald Norn and began scrolling to the left. As we started to pick up speed, she got this scared look on her face and exclaimed, "Maybe rest ghosthande!" XD It was so cute.
I've also had the neverending "me like so-and-so" babble. Lots of times. One time I made the mistake of naming a Norn "Fishskin"... you know how that translates in Nornish? "Yow ho-ho-ho-ho-ho-ho-ho bee!" Now imagine twenty Norns all saying this at once.
I had a group of Norns engaging in the neverending "me like so-and-so" this morning, but I caught one Norn having a rather odd conversation... seemingly with herself. She kept repeating, "Maybe right self. Maybe right self." Even when I separated her from the other Norns, she kept saying it!

My norettin (A norn mxed with an ettin.) named Marika mated today with an ettin and she laid an egg and so I hatched the egg and out came the tinest baby! The baby had screwed up body parts like her mother! The baby ettin was so cute! It was 3 inches bigger then ther nano norns!

Once in C3 I had a norn who seemed to really like grendals but sadly the grendals killed him :-( BUMMER!
lol I should have told him not to talk to Grendals (Strangers).

I had a Norn who was like that. The entire time he was being beaten to death, he kept saying "Me like Gremmy, me like Gremmy!"
Oddly enough, the Grendel replied in turn a couple times 0.o;

I pop in here expecting charming tales of precious moments in Creatures gaming, and you guys are going on about creatures beating the heck out of each other? For shame.
...

You have to be honest with yourself when you are writing. If that leads to somewhere unexpected then perhaps you really needed to go there.

But they loved each other while they were beating the heck out of each other.
Back when I had C3, my mom decided to give the game a try. She started off with a pair of Bengal Norns. Soon they laid their first egg. After she hatched it and taught the baby to speak, the parents immediately walked all the way over to the learning room door (from the treehouse elevator), and proceeded to tell the baby that they loved her, and the baby told them she loved them. It was SO cute!
Oddly, though, none of my Norns have ever done that. They usually slap the baby a couple times and call it done.

Many people get slapped right after they're born. Don't see why Norns should be an exception.
My most touching moment must have been my first aquanorn in C2.
I didn't have internets back then and didn't even know it was possible to make and download cobs or genetics or breeds for Creatures. One day I found this Norn just playing around in the ocean near the submarine bay. She wasn't drowning at all. I was so happy and surprised my Norn had really evolved!

My baby Emerald Norn has been learning her words by listening to the other Norns. Just a second ago she put her hands up to her face and exclaimed, "Weweat Norn!" XD
Another seems a little confused: "Maybe express elevator bub."
...I want to know what the other Norn said. 0.o

"Retreat norn."
I think the most touching thing to me was when I had a C12DS "Banana" norn, and.. Well, let's just say it found some Coffee after birth, drank it , drank it drank it drank it.. And continued so I could take some photos, so then I took the coffee away. It went crazy. Hands in the air, running back and forth - Then it took the coffee back, and drank it even more.. And more.. And more.
Finally I took it away for good. Bad idea. The norn went crazy for a short moment, then confused for a second or two - Then died. Just like that.
Since then, no norn of mine has dared touch the coffee. Interesting result.
Okay, so it isn't touching! lol!

The sweetest moment I saw in creatures was a mom and and her daughter going back and forth saying they liked each other. It was really cute.
On a funnier note I've had a few narcissistic norns. They'd say they liked them selves over and over.

That's funny. Are you sure they weren't referring to an unnamed Norn though? Mine say things like "me like me" when they're referring to a Norn that doesn't have a name; if you name them it usually makes it clearer what they're up to.

One of the most touching things I've seen was when one of my Norns crept up onto another as it slept. Because they were Pink Strawberry Norns, the Norn creeping up ran way with fear when the other Norn awoke! |

That's not what they said ghostie. Suppose the norn in question's name was jack. They'd say 'Me like jack'. XP No unnamed norns, I had autonamer on.

Sometimes when norns are taught words via VOCB or the learning-swirl-dealie in DS or any other vocabulary-teaching-agents, they'll forget their names and call themselves "me." And when creatures are referring other creatures, they refer to said creature by whatever name he/she calls himself. So if a creature who thought his name was "me" liked another creature who thought his name was "me," they would indeed say "me like me" while referring to each other. Kind of silly!
Far as touching moments go, this is a little generic, but I just really love it when two creatures are standing in that pose where they're facing eachother, and have their heads just slightly pointed upwards like they're trying to touch noses or something, looking at each other, repeating "me like/love norn" (or whatever the names are) over and over. Years and year playing this game and that still never fails to make me smile.

It's not exactly "touching," but I had a little Albian Grey Norn who loved to pick lemons from the lemon trellis thingy. She would never eat them; she would just pick one, put it on the ground, and pick another. O.o
Her mom, another Albian Grey, randomly nicknamed herself the other day. Her name is Janet, but for some reason she now refers to herself as "JoJo." So cute! Anyone else ever have this happen?

The only time I've had norns rename themselves is when they start learning another word for their name and get confused (i.e., I'm trying to teach them that the lemon they're holding is "food", but they're looking at themselves instead of the lemon, so they think they're learning a new name for themselves). I have purposefully taught norns to call themselves things other than their registered name, though; PF's a good example of this.

Another cute occurance: one of my Norns laid an egg right next to the door to the learning room thingy in the C3 Norn terrarium. She proceeded to pace back and forth near it until it hatched. <3

Interesting topic. XD
Does an artificial creature make me all warm and fuzzy inside? Well..Actually, they did once.
It were the first two times ever I played Creatures2, and also the first time I saw one of my beloved Norns die. I didn't know yet how to cure a Norn that had fainted..so I picked a random jar of medicine from the doctor kit, but my Norn didn't drink it. It made a sad moan and then passed away. She slowly ascends.
And I was sitting behind my PC, with trembling lips and a serious rock in my throat. Believe me, I wanted to cry. And it overcame me even twice! |

I agree with Marrie very interesting!
The most touching moment that almst made me cry is when Norns of my gen 4 and 5 almost all died when they were babies. All of my generations lived together in Ettin village near volcano (ofc I never let them be in it!) and there were about 25 of them. They were kinda crowded and also hungry. I was novice then so I would often give them liquid food since there was VERY little food around and they were breeding like rabbits! On end the only remaining Norns was entire gen 1 (6 h old) and a couple of Norns from 2nd and 3rd gen. Yeah, it was very very sad when new born baby died! And also one Norn didn't have head!

One of the most touching things that happened to me was in C1 when I had a male Horse Norn named Henry and a female Purple Mountain Norn named Paloma (I uploaded her to the adoption page). Anyway, whenever Henry was near Paloma he always did this cute little dance to get her attention.
Sadly Henry passed away, but not after living a great life of eleven hours. For some odd reason Paloma never died, and she's still alive at 17 hours old. Weird... |

Banana, Pixie, Horse and PMN Norns in C1 can't die of old age, they lack the gene for it. I've uploaded fixed genomes for this on Creaturetopia. |

I hope I am not going off topic too much but I read somewhere (I don't know exactly where, but I did) that some PMN, Bananas, Pixies and Horses can live 30+ hours, and that C2 Norns could before some update or something.

I had this old couple who decided to retire to the aquatic terrarium in one of my c3 worlds... it was a beowulf/bengal couple and they lived there for quite a while actually. Eventually, the beowulf female died and then the male bengal got really really sad about something and paced back and forth until he died .
