General Forum What will become of Creatures?   1 | 2 | 3 capitano_ritard   8/13/2006 What will become of the Creatures series? Since Gameware has owned it, it seems the only thing they have done is made additional stuff free for download. Are they ever going to work on another title? It has been a while with no progress/news.   AquaShee   8/13/2006 Well, Gameware is a company like any other, and they have to make a profit. At the moment there is no money in new Creatures games (since they'd have to find investors and design the new game from almost scratch) so they are focussing on other projects. Those games do not sell in the United States, but some places used to import them (that's how my cousin got it). They could have voice recognition, you could *acctually* pet them, the X and Y buttons could be for metaroom travel, and blah, blah, blah. ps. We love being able to export things and post them online. (>oo)>   Don     8/16/2006 Once Gameware are more established as a stable and reliable company with some good titles under their belts, 'then' they can consider which publisher could fund a Creatures game. In the mean time we need to ensure the Creatures fan base is a wide and active as possible otherwise no one will believe a new Creatures game will be marketable. So, we need to focus on producing websites, agents and news if we want everything to work out. (>oo)>   Tonjevic     8/21/2006 It's a little late of a response, but downloading extra content to creatures wouldn't be that big of an issue. Nintendo have servers now that stuff can be downloaded from for the DS. The only thing you would need to do is put some permanent memory on the DS cartrige. It may be difficult to create agents for the community, but it would be certainly possible. An added bonus would be quality assurance for the content, and at least *some* kind of a drive to release more content for the game by GW. As for creating a new game, I reckon that would be awesome! I might even be able to help! ^^ I am proficient at 3DSMax and photoshop, and can even code a little. What I would like to see, though, is a finished Pinball metaroom. *me goes off to learn CAOS in order to realise the dream* Yeah, so there are my two cents. It could be adventure style, and you have to evolve your norns to a certain stage to progress. There would have to be more evolution though. rather than just random mutation. It could also have a sandbox mode, like the ordinary creatures, and a back story. A new game would be cool (i still have not tried C2 yet). It would be cool if it was online and you were a norn/grendel/ettin, and you could walk around and talk. Or, another game with new Creatures and a difernt world like a second albia. Making titles for a non-existant C4 is pointless... as is discussing a C4, really. Gameware have stated it is extremely unlikely they will be able to make another Creatures game, and if they do, it would be in 3D. As Don said... focus on developing for C1, C2, and C3/DS!
