Amazing how a little bit of shading can make an egg look 3D. LOL

Bumpmapping pretty much means that you take a simple flat object (like a flat picture or the surface of a 3d object) and then use a grayscaled picture (such as this egg-base) to let it look more detailed. Basically this. What I said means taking a neat pattern as "left image" and mea's egg base as "middle image".
The "right image" would be a resulting textured egg.

Basically, depending on the art program you are using, there is a way you can use the shaded egg sprite to add the same shading to a regular flat texture. It is sort of a way to 'cheat' at spriting & lets people who are not good at spriting make egg sprites as well.

I like the shaded egg, but I don't understand the previous two comments...

| Yup, that's exactly why I made two different bases.
The blank one for those who want to go completely crazy with how the egg looks, & this one for those who want to use your method. That's a method I've used a few times myself.

Looks quite neat. I bet it could compensate my lack of artistic talent.
A nice texture, cut into form, then the egg base as bumpmap... yeah, that could work...
