 | For some reason in this world I can drop norns in space in between the two air locks. Although randomly they will explode and turn to clouds and bones, as if they were put in the air lock O_o |

I discovered that spot when one my norns got teleported there and died (random teleporter, they did warn us!)

Actually the airlock is just an ordinary room (or in fact even multiple rooms) like any other. It is filled with "Air". This enables Creatures to live, but no plants will grow.
It's the agent of the airlock which actually destroys the items. When that isn't there (or as in your case simply not active because not in use) it won't destroy stuff either.
Occasionally it still may happen that the airlock agent "notices" the agents and creatures in Space and vaporizes them...
There's a bunch of other funny places, like this one.
When you are really interested in finding such, you can turn on the debug map with "dmap 1" and turn it off again with "dmap 0" in the CAOS console. Green are fully passable borders between rooms, yellow are partially passable, red are barely or not passable and turquoise is a border between room and the big nothing. Doors inside rooms (e.g. next to the C3 hatchery) work by manipulating those borders.

Did you know if you hold an object inside the airlock whilst it is being opened the object will become extremely bouncy?

it is possible - you just have to find the right spots - usuly somewhere in the middle is the usual spot.I did it once by accident, good thing is was a copy ^^' It works for items too!
