Minecraft-Style Banana Norn Art C-Rex | 3/23/2017 | 4 | Thought I'd have a go at making a Minecraft-style 3D model. Modelling done in Maya. Texturing done in Substance Painter. |

@Doringo: I wouldn't exactly call the dragon your typical everyday mob
I know I know, I mentioned the wither as an example, which isn't very regular either, but I also had several more normal mobs in there.

@Papriko: The mod thing is actually where I got the inspiration from, as some people were complaining about Mocreatures because it doesn't follow Minecraft's style.
I'll probably end up remaking a lot of it, including the textures, as I noticed little areas that hadn't been painted properly.

It's not a mod-exclusive, some things like dragon tails often have it to a more extreme extent.

Not everything is perfectly 90 degree. Most arms, such as those of endermen or the players themselves are a little bit angled. Spider legs are angled too. Squid tentacles, horse necks/heads, ghast tentacles, guardian spikes, the little dangly bit of the wither's spine, bunny ears...
I think making something slightly angled would work perfectly well in the minecraft style. Just this "glue a dozen cuboids together for flexibility" seems to be a mod-exclusive thing.

@Doringo: Good idea, I'll give it a go!
Simple, make every cuboid at a 90 degree angle to the point where it makes a jagged line.
@Doringo: I considered that, but it would go against the Minecraft style. If you notice, pretty much all body parts on the Minecraft characters are either at a 90 or 180 degree angle.

On the preview picture it looks rather freaky, because the ears and the arms look as if they were one. The full scale picture on the other hand reveals that it's pretty good.
Maybe you could try making the ears more curved by using more cuboids?
Probably going to make a newer version soon, as this one looks a little bit squashed and I think I need to make the arms a bit higher.
