Pearlmaids in Aquanornia Screenshots RisenAngel | 6/19/2013 | 4 | A shot of the Aquanornia setup in my Mermaid world, complete with Pearlmaids. I'm running this world in a similar manner to Kezune's Mermaid world at her blog, minus the "Female must lay eggs on land" part (which is just as well, considering that Past Seas doesn't have any air areas).
The Norns themselves are using a self-made genome similar to the default Pearlmaid genome, but these ones change color as they get older, cannot breed until they get their fins (adulthood), and have a slightly tendency to munch on critters. I might release the genome if there's enough interest. |

*sigh* It's like a beautiful aquarium...

Excellent, thanks! Now I just need to find (or create) an agent to inject or top up chemical 63 automatically - I'm thinking Amai's air bubbles might be editable for the task...

Grendel Man and Malkin explained how to change the COS files to make aquatic births possible. I've included it towards the end of this post for easy reference!

Yeah, pretty much. Most Grendel breeds will actually metabolize Chemical 63 and won't be able to swim, though. You'd have to edit their half-life genes to make them able to swim.

So any breed can be made a swimmer by injecting chemical 63 and making sure it's got an air supply?!

C3 shouldn't need to be installed. Creatures need to have chemical 63 in their system to use the swimmeragents- I don't know if Pearlmaids produce it naturally or not, I'm not on my own computer or I'd check now.

You need to inject the norns with Chemical 63 for the Swimmer Agent to work.

No, not a stupid question. I've got GM's Swimming Agent v2, though I didn't know if that was all I needed, or if I needed to be doing something to the norns as well. I know there are just aquatic (as opposed to swimming) breeds, and didn't know if PMs were one of those.
ETA: this is in standalone DS - does C3 need to be installed on the same computer?

The laying eggs on land thing that I'm doing is a rule of the world, not a rule of the breed.
If you want your PearlMaids to swim, you need to get a swimmer agent. I recommend Grendel Man's.

I'm curious about how the aquatic birth works, too.
Nutter- This is going to sound like a stupid question, but did you inject a swimming agent?
