Norns live around ~5 hours with the standard genome, though the mall breeds live longer or shorter lives than that. Ettins live for about 5 hours as well, while grendels live around 3. Although female grendels are at risk of premature aging if they give birth.
Grendels aren't so bad, but I love Ettins! They're adorable! The complexity of creatures is quite amazing. |

Let's not hope for the worst, but you might have immortal creatures. Sometimes creatures mutate in such a way that they kinda just... forget how to die of old age. I would recommend to check the creature(s) in question with either a health agent of your choice or simply the C3 medbay.
If Life Force (chemical number 125) is at 0 and the creature still makes no attempt to kick the bucket, it is in fact immortal.
If you're actually breeding ettins and don't just keep them around as little mascots, it might be best to yeet them right out of the airlock or into the piranha pond. Immortality tends to be hereditary, so many children of an immortal creature may end up immortal themselves. With nobody dying, no new eggs hatch and your population stagnates.
