Norn Constantly Scared

So, this is a weird little guy. He's called Deathless Axe. He's from my Imperator Dragon world that I started on September 30th. It's been running most of the time ever since, day and night, except for one day when I switched to a different world briefly. The generations move a bit slowly because of long dragon lifespans (something has to die for a new egg to hatch), but even so, they're in the 20s generation-wise and mutations have really piled up. Even so, most of them are more or less normal-ish.

This boy, though, is odd. He seemed okay at first, but then I noticed him complaining about being scared a lot, even when other nearby Norns felt 'extremely safe'. I checked him for fear toxin and didn't find any. I checked him against a Gen1 Imperator in GeneCompare and didn't spot any obvious causes. There's got to be one, though, because it's severe. He spends most of his time running around in the fear pose and doesn't even want to eat, suggesting his fear overwhelmsion is acting up. If I hadn't forced the issue with CRC he probably would have starved.

I'm curious what I'm overlooking, so I've made a package containing a copy of his export file, the GeneCompare output, and his .gen file. If anyone has time and is willing, I'd love another set of eyes on this. I feel like I must be overlooking an obvious cause, but I'm not thinking very well because of RL stuff. Thanks in advance.

This link has the 'ScaredyDragon' folder containing only the above-mentioned files:

I'll look at the gene file (and put my findings in the edit) but if you're running in the ark or capilata, he could be infected with fear toxin from bacteria.

Edit: The gene compare looks, fine, so that's the only thing I could think of, unless it's something that's in all the other guys but is only triggered by something specific?

I did check for fear toxin with the X-ray's chemistry function but it showed nothing. The other thing is it started happening very quickly after he was born and none of the others nearby have similar symptoms. And shouldn't fear toxin wear off eventually? He's been continually scared since he was a baby. It's the oddest thing.

I was curious, cause as said I don't remember the genome you're using, so I thought maybe he was producing lactate!

But he's CFF, yet he's producing lactic acid, thus is constantly drowning (which makes fear).

I remembered a gene I spotted. A gene in his heart that's a receptor that controls a reaction mutated to control the organ's clock rate, making the heart beat less, but also making the reaction trigger more.

This causes Oxygen to be consumed at a rate faster than the lungs can keep up, causing LDH to be produced, which then turns into Lactic acid.

You can seen LDH is produced at lower than 0.443 oxygen, and he consistently has barely more than 0.25.

I have a perma-baby norn right now with the same condition of eternal fear. Quick injections only bring it down for a second, and it doesn't appear as anything in chem graphs. :( Seems to be living their eternal baby life fine though, eating then running away from everything.

I'm not sure if the eternal infancy is because of me trying to inject a few things in my initial panic, but he was also born with a few 0's in energy, oxygen, ATP... but survived through it all before I managed to get those fixed. He's cute, so I keep him around. :)

Since you have a norn born with 0 ATP and energy and still alive, it means they're already a zombie, so no reactions/emitters/receptors are going to trigger anymore.

That's also why they're a baby forever too.

Oh jeez. He's my favourite little zombie then! :) Thank you for the quick reply, I was pulling hair not understanding. :(

Ah! That explains a lot! Thanks, Verm. Much appreciated. I noticed a few other norns in the same run dying of "asphyxiation" according to the Autopsy thing, but I hadn't taken the time to dig too far into it. Just put it down to "bad mutation". I guess it must have been a worse variant of that one, or something similar.
