C12DS is crazy slow with the new patch? | |

I recently started up a fresh world to play with the TWB/TCB creatures, and I decided to use C12DS to try it out with the new patch as well.
However, as soon as I installed the new patch, C12DS began running INSANELY slow. We're talking one-frame-per-second slow, with intense lag. This was with no creatures in the world, either--just the empty room was going very slow. I've seen the room lag before, but never this badly, and never while empty.
I didn't install many other mods in the world. The only other mods I used were:
-Advanced Muco (easy setup)
-DS Deep Freezer (to ensure the eggs all hatched at roughly the same time)
-Vocabulizer
-XRay
That was it; everything suddenly began running insanely slowly.
Anyone else have this problem/know what causes it? |

How comfortable are you with messing with COS scripts? I have a profiler script that I've used for pinpointing similar issues, but if you're iffy with the CAOS console, I'd rather package it as an agent before tossing it at you.
ETA: I had some spare time tonight. Run this and toss the output up somewhere: xan's profiler
Toss the CSV it spits out on Pastebin or the like. If it's indeed a CA linking problem as theorized though, this won't catch it. But if it's something like a bug in the patch making something replicate out of control, it just might. |

Are you using the updated version of the new patch (the one released on December 19)? Just checking. |

I mean it could be because you used up most of your memory.I don't think it would have to be the Advanced muco.Possibly the Deep Freezer because quote on quote "Its a BIG Agent."
Its probably not the vocabulizer.
I have discovered that it is highly likely the X-Ray thats causing the problem; since quote on quote (Creatures Wiki) "Unfortunately; it is quite common for the X-Ray to be autokilled when Exodus is running."
If you're having trouble with it and you're on either Macintosh or Windows version its extremely important that you put the .catalogue files in the correct place. If not the X-Ray won't work entirely.
Windows X-Ray Guide:
Copy all catalogue files from "My Documents" into "Program Files" and vice versa
Macintosh X-ray Guide:
Read these instructions for details.

I've had this issue after adding CA links in manually and also get this issue with the patch, so I think it is room and CA link related.

@Dragoler: I suspected it might be that. CA seems to be resource-intensive in this room.
@Lacota: How do I make sure the patched version is running in my new world? Will uninstalling it + reinstalling it work, or will I have to perform a mass exodus of my Norns and make a new world?
EDIT: So, I did a little testing, and I suspect Dragoler is right--the CA links have something to do with it. I uninstalled the Xray and Deep Freezer mods, and the game still ran slowly. But I've noticed something about the lag:
The lag is always worst around areas with a lot of elevators.
Areas like the greenhouse area and the middle of the treehouse walkway run well, but areas like the submarine and the temple tend to go really slowly. This would seem to back up the CA links being the cause of the slowdown, since those are the areas which would have the most activity of that kind. |
