I keep getting getting norns hatching out of ettin eggs from the ettin egg layer in the desert terrarium. Has anyone else had this problem?

look in your genetic folder. are there any not-ettin genomes that have names which start with the letter E?

another example are the guppy ettins. their genome-name starts with G, so the grendel mother lays guppy ettin eggs when they are installed.

what kind of norn comes out of your ettin mother?

but that is a classic problem. the ettin mother chooses randomly any genome that starts with E, the grendel mother takes everything with a G.

Don has created fixes for a couple of breeds which do this.

Thanks Papriko! that was just the trick. It seems that this bug would be a way to intentionally have a gender occasionally injected into a wolfling run.

Oddly enough, I have the exact same problem with male Gargoyle Norns coming out of the Grendel Egg Layer.

*roots around for patch*

again the same bug: the genome is called gargoyle.gen, and I already said that the grendelmother takes everything with G.

If you just go into your genome folder and remove the "g" or "e", then it will also work.

when you rename (as example) the gargoyle.gen into argoyle.gen will the grendelmother stop laying gargoyle eggs.
the prob is: The C3 egglayer/DS Muco will also not find the genome again. so they will
A) autokill themselves or
B) place again the genome with G at start in the folder.
in case of B) you will have now both in the Genetics folder, the argoyle.gen and the gargoyle.gen

The patch Malkin was talking about seems to be the best way to fix the problem. else you have to live with gargoly pseudo grendels.
