i recived the error [C2_ERRCOULDNOTLOADSPRITE] the file it says it can't find is 8ENG.S16 and the file path the error gives is: c/programfiles/creatures2/images/8ENG.S16C/programfiles/creatures2/images/8ENG.S16 also, if i uninstall then reinstall the game, might that fix the problem and would all my norns still be in the world when i reinstall? |

yes, that's when i got the erro. the game was working fine before |

You're missing a file. A sprite file. Donno how it could have happened. I don't have the actual file myself though. Sorry. Although now that I look at it, it looks like the file is specific to a certain creature. So you might want to back up your files and reinstall the game. Do not upset the ugly worm, lest it be a dragon in disguise. (>oo)> |

8ENG sounds like the filename of a specific norn's sprite file. Each norn in C2 should have one. If you look in the genetics folder, can you find a genome file with the same name? I'm not sure how else you can fix it besides tricking the game into thinking you actually have the correct file. I'm going to e-mail you one of my own norn's sprite files (rennamed to 8ENG); stick it in the game's image folder and see if it works. (It might also be a Grendel or Ettin's file, but I think as long as the spite file exists, period, the game won't care what species is in it). ETA: If you uninstall/reinstall the game, I think your worlds are lost, but the norns in Export and any breeds/COBs you've downloaded will remain unless you completely wipe out the C2 folder. And I completely missed that KC11 pointed out the cause before me. -_- You have to be honest with yourself when you are writing. If that leads to somewhere unexpected then perhaps you really needed to go there. -- Jim Adkins |

i thought it was norn specific and i'm not sure how the file came to be missing in the first place. although i have noticed that with c2 occasionaly game related files will end up missing or not where they should be. i was actually getting ready to back up the rest of my creatures (because i'm paranoid about game crashes) when this happened. i'll try your idea Officer-1BDI, and see what happens, i'll also check the genetics folder again. thanks everyone |
