Aging in C1

Since I have been writing a Creatures 1 game FAQ, I've been trying to include all sorts of information. I've been wanting to record how many minutes it takes for the average norn to age into the next life stage. Unfortunately there's really no indication within the game that states what the creature's current life stage is, besides monitoring the minutes. Even then, it's hard to get a near exact estimate. The game help topics and Creatures wiki don't help with this.

So, does anyone have a rough estimate of at what time the average norn ages in C1? Thanks.

The manual that comes with the original C1 disk(s) actually lists the minutes for all of the life stages. And I happen to have said manual. :D

0-20 min = Baby
20-50 min = Child
50-80 min = Adolescent
80-??? min =Adult (manual says 10 hours, but I think there's some sort of glitch in the original norn genomes that doesn't allow them to die of old age?)

I remember those numbers being fairly accurate for norns without aging mutations back when I played C1 religiously, so I think they're correct.

You have to be honest with yourself when you are writing. If that leads to somewhere unexpected then perhaps you really needed to go there.

Those numbers are indeed correct from what I remember as well. Norns didn't die of old age, generally some disease or hunger had to kill them off.

You're thinking of the Highlander mutation, possibly? I think they were the first immortals.

The C1 norns lacked the genes that killed them due to old age. So they pretty much lived forever if you kept in in very perfect health. =P However this was fixed in the Ron and Forest Norns.

Thanks so much for the minutes, this will be very helpful. I shall credit you for helping me.

I'm pretty sure MuppetBoy's Geatville has a lot of that basic sort of information that you'd need for the walkthrough.

In my years of playing C1, the first generation Hatchery norns generally reached adulthood around an hour and ten, maybe twenty minutes.

For some reason- and I don't know if this applies to everyones' game but it was over more than one reinstall- the pure Banana/Type 0 Hatchery norns tended to age up a bit faster, around 50 minutes. That might just be a quirk of my game, but that's what I observed.
