Creatures Online: Coming November 2015?According to a few sources shared on the official Creatures Online forum, November 2015 could be a potential release date for the new game.

Additionally there have been some updates to the Creatures Online page at the Fishing Cactus website which contains a "get the game" link (it doesn't work as of yet, but still progress).

According to the page there are "5 environments to explore". As of now we've seen the hatchery, cavern and island. I wonder what the other two could be...

What do you think? Could we have our hands on the mysterious Creatures Online in less than two months?

I'm doubtful, knowing FC's track record up until now and not really expecting anything different. Plus I'm still not that excited for the game itself considering how it looks to be a massive step backwards from what made the original trilogy so great.

On the other hand, I'm hopeful since finally seeing this released will both finally put an end to the people constantly asking "Is this game out yet?" and possibly bringing in some new life to this otherwise small community.

We'll see what happens, I suppose.

Wow! More Creatures progress. To be honest, I haven't really been excited for the game ever since they revealed the F2P elements... I agree with Grendel Man, the series just looks like it's going to take a big step backwards.

But, I will remain positive! Maybe the game will be pretty good. And who knows? If it's successful, we might even see a full fledged Creatures 4 in the distant future. :D

Hey guys, remember what happened to the Banjo-Kazooie series?
If you don't, what happened is that after Microsoft bought Rare (the guys that made the games), they made Nuts n' Bolts and it was so suck-y it killed the series.
I fear history will repeat itself, even if Creatures' spirit lives on through Grandroids like with BK and Yooka-Laylee.

(... And speaking of Grandroids, does anyone know any news about it?)

I've never played Nuts and Bolts, but isn't the reason people gave it bad reviews just for the fact it tried to break away from the platformer genre? It seems as though for some reason game reviewers hate change in video games along with any other reasons they can find to moan about, hence the reason I think a game should be played at least once before looking at reviews in order to get your own opinion on it.

The same thing goes for Creatures Online. Until the game is released nobody apart from Fishing Cactus knows what it will be like, so it seems unfair in my opinion to judge it until it is actually released.

From what I heard, Nuts n Bolts indeed partially failed because of that "breaking from the platformer genre", yes. But you must admit, going from platformers to a lego racers style game where you just build different cars and scoot around is quite a leap. And that as a "main series" entry, not just a spin-off like Diddy Kong Racing or Mario Kart.

The next problem was that they actually put out a trailer for a new platformer, probably Banjo Threeie, with all the goodness from the old games paired with the newer technologies that got developed in the years of Banjo and Kazooies absence. Then suddenly, Nuts n Bolts. People felt pretty fooled and tricked.

The third thing is what they did with the heroes. They used to be iconic figures, agile and vibrant. And in Nuts n Bolts.... They are old. Old and fat. No, literally! Old and fat! I mean, what the heck? Imagine Mario and Luigi would suddenly gain 20 years and 100 pounds each, how would fans react to that?

When Rare was bought by MS, the new Rare boss got shown some of the old classics, like DKC, Conker and, well, Banjo and Kazooie. He hated those games and commented them as downright ugly. I think that was the main issue. The new Rare boss hated the old franchises and treated them accordingly.
I don't think we have that problem with FC. They might not be Creature Labs, but at least they are trying.

Well, speaking on that point about how the 'heroes' look, you gotta admit the Creatures Online norns look creepy as sin. I don't find them cute at all. The big-eyes and cartoony grins worked in the 2D games, because unrealistic proportions don't look weird on cartoon characters. Once they started 3D-izing the games, for C3 and especially Creatures Village (seriously, what on earth happened there? Those creatures give me nightmares! Their eyes don't even face in the same direction half the time; are they supposed to look mentally slow? I mean, is it intentional? Because a big part of me thinks not!)

So now that they're fully 3D, it just looks so weird. At least their eyes focus, which is a bonus... I think? But really now. I expect to see these things in a Five Nights at Freddies game. So creepy.

Anyway... not to just post a whine, as I tend to do that a lot when it comes to this game. :P

I'm pretty convinced about the sort of product we'll get. I've played a lot of time-wastery browser games with "wait for the build timer, click the chicken to feed it"-type mechanics. I don't think they're inherently bad games, just formulaic. Predictable. Like virtual pet sites. It's all about the user waiting for things. But I'm sure Creatures Online is going to be an interesting flavour of this type of waiting-for-things game, at least for a while. I'm almost certainly going to play it for the 1-2 weeks it stays entertaining, until my brain realises I'm waiting 5 hours for my next egg to hatch, and sitting here clicking a flower every 5 minutes to gather enough 'coinz' or whatever to buy a Ball toy that can be used 5 times before it disappears (real example btw; I've seen the Creatures Online shop during their livestreams, this is exactly how items work).

So yeah, like I said, I'll play it. It'll be kinda fun for a while. Fallout Shelter was fun for a while, same story there. It'll tide me over until the next Grandroids demo. :)

(Speaking of which, Steve released a new one last week! The Gloops are now able to walk around, 'see' objects, and follow them. As they follow, they're visually mapping the island and making associations about where to find things. Then they 'sleep' and their brains organize the information into long-term memory, just like ours do. Pretty neat, although still very simplistic and mostly just a crowd-sourced diagnostic test for Steve's coding so far. But hey, they're starting to come alive, at long last! :D)

You said it yourself, people complained about the C3/DS style as well, which I can not understand myself, really. I think it works quite well.
Anyways, people played and still play the games despite that, so I am not too worried in that department.

But I have to agree: what does worry is this whole browser/mobile game thingy they have going on. That makes me somewhat nervous.
And then they team up with ProSieben Games. I mean, seriously? Pro7 is quite good as a TV station, having all the big things like Marvel movies and series such as Big Bang Theory and all that kinda stuff.
But the browser games they keep advertising for look just terrible. They impress with fancy 3d animations in the spot, but in the end you just get some farmville clone. Brrrrrrr...

I know people with a lazy eye, could we not center about that being terrifying or implying someone is 'slow'? :\

I'm really glad to see grandroids news, me and the household have been wondering about it. Really crossing my fingers it doesn't become vaporware like CO practically did.

I hate to burst everyone's bubbles, but the same website now says Creatures Online has a release date of 2016.
