Many posts ago I wrote about c2 not working in vista so I said that I would not rest until I found something that may fix it. But since Openc2e has been released I have been beaten at finding a fix but if this helps this is what I found.
1.This could be wrong but I think that c2 in vista may have a problem with a regedit not installing or somethin(Cant remember).
2.If you download Virtual Pc 2007 this could be a way of playing it. Virtual Pc allows you to install other operating systems without changing from your existing one(Im not good at explainin thins am I :-/).
Anyway if you can understand what Im saying this is all I could find and this should help abit.

as far as i'm aware, to run a virtual machine you need to have a copy of the OS you want to run anyway. so if you own vista and no XP cd, for example, it won't help. possibly there's a total emulator somewhere about, but i think it would be just a TOUCH black market.
if we're not the change we want to see
if we're not the change, who will be? |

Running an incompatible app inside a VM is not quite a 'fix.'
Good on you though. |

There are fundamental issues with C2 on Vista that extend beyond simple registry issues, iirc. Running C2 in a virtual machine is not so much fixing the vista incompatibility as running it on a different (albeit emulated) computer.

Hopefully one day somebody will find a fix or the cause.

The cause is known and there is no fix (more specifically, there is no fix that addresses the cause). |
