Hi people!
Hope some of you still remember me it's Nina aka El, a very long time back i had an creatures site on iggdrasil.narod.ru
the news: this old site is going to be revised (i know it looks HORRIBLE, but i was only a kid when made it) and set up online again
i also know it was closed for many years with "coming back soon" image but now i'm really going for it
now, to an unnoficial part
i left community sometime after CreatureLabs became Gameware, and today i wanted to post this and understood that i don't know where people are now. like, all old sites i knew are closed, Gameware forums are down today and the only place i found at first was deserted yahoo!group dockingstationaftermath. but then i sat on and tryed to remember anything else really hard, and funny, CC was the only creatures site beside A2K that i remembered and looks like here's still lots of people around. this is just wonderful!
so i wanted to greet everyone, especially who knows me |

Holy hell, it's you! I remember you. Your site had the best C2 stuff, I was sad when it disappeared.
How are you gonna do your website? Just straight html, or do you have some coding experience up your sleeve? Any teasers for us? |

i'm using asp.net 2.0 platform, doing my own site as a part of learning it so i decided to get up all the creatures stuff too. spent last 2 days learning how to work with "div" stuff hehe
the tricky part is that i'll need to integrate mysql into the site while i don't know it's language. i need it to store download's descriptions, links and associated stuff (i.e. norn images, c2 cobs, etc.) to arrange a category search for downloads.
while i can't do mysql part on my own i'm using help of my friend.
everything is on early stage now, for the "main site" i have basic visual design drawn and xhtml layout basically done, but considering the creatures part i haven't desided if it should have some other design or not and also if i should register its own domain for it.
also how soon everything will be up heavily depends on how soon my friend will write me some solution to work with database that i would be able to understand. |

WOW I remember iggdrasil! Wow, heheh - Almost forgot about past sites like it, but certainly not iggdrasil. It's so nice to hear that new stuff is coming along.

I guess I'm reviving a (very) old thread, but since it is about revivals...
Anyway the website looks fantastic! Glad to see you were able to get the MySQL database worked out. I would say that MySQL is pretty simple especially since there are only a few lines that you can use over and over for the bulk of the website.
I miss coding.
