adding CAs to C3/Ds

Hello,
I was just wondering if it was possible to increase the maximum number of CAs in the game. It would be great if I could create Cas for various things like organic/inorganic nutrients, gasses such as carbon dioxide/ oxygen/ nitrogen and red/blue/green light. If this is possible I would like to know how.

Sadly no, the number of CAs in the game is an engine limitation, and even with the ability to add more, creatures would have more chemical slots used up by these new CAs, which may overwrite some chemicals.

You know...wait...nevermind... wait...no...umm...maybe later...

I mean, we already see it happen to some degree. The default smell for Geats is norn home, i.e. stuff like the incubator pad, because that is the next one in the list after norn smell, grendel smell and ettin smell.

Lets play plants! Photosynthesis... Photosynthesis... Photosynthesis...

Thanks for letting me know on such a short notice. Anyway, I wonder if It's possible to update the engine in order to allow more of them, maybe even
update it to allow objects to emit multiple smells. Mostly just thinking out loud at this point.

You would most likely need the engine source code and the knowledge on how to edit it.
OpenC2e might be a better bet as its newer and legal, but idk much about it https://creatures.wiki/Openc2e
