Hi,
I have done a bit of work on a new metaroom for DS. It's not a big flashy room with an ecosystem...it's more of a utility room.
I got fed up of having to get to all the metarooms via magic beans and teleporters and such. I like doors. Big metal doors. However, DS has no room for extra doors, so I have therefore made a room of doors.
All the sprites are done, with doors lift and call buttons all present, compiled and animated.
Is this a room that people would be interested in? If so, it needs to be decided what rooms connect to what doors. My thought was that this could be a good little project to bring into the CCSF...package the best metarooms linked nice and tidy with The Hub. |

Wow! That makes my Universal Hub look like garbage!
I don't have any suggestions of rooms to connect it to, sorry.

Ah dang...didn't know someone had made a hub...looked for ages through rooms lists. Didn't mean to step on anyones toes. |

There are a couple of reasons previous projects like this haven't worked out being widely used. One, they don't cater to metarooms already made, and two, require installing a door somewhere in the metaroom.
If you can make it so the metaroom you're going to doesn't need a door on the other side, I think that'd be very beneficial. Maybe a portal of some description?

I think what I am going to need to do is add a utility to inject a door/portal or whatever to a location and then link it to a door in the hub.
I need to make it flexible so it can cater to everyones door needs, and yet not be intrusive. Looks like I need to get coding!

Sorry...no link yet. I still have some work to do! |

The only one I really use is Terra Reborn. If you could do Moe's updated Terra Reborn that would be great. |

That looks WAY better than the Universal Hub. The UH was designed for the COC, but this is for organizing Metaroom doors, nice idea!

The rooms I'd want to have links to:
Aquatilis Caverna
Terra Reborn
Terra Pluvialis
And, uh, Annex, I'd like to book... 3 doors for now, other than my ones above. That'd be swell.

Might I suggest the Seawead Tavern and Zaharo metarooms? They're small, but the point is they have no other access points.
This is really great work!

That is looking awesome! I *love* the rather dank and gloomy feeling, a bit like a cave, mine or shaft. It has that feel that made C3 so attractive to me to begin with ^_^
Maybe... instead of doors, there could be empty valves? Doors could be injectable and placeable object instead. This is the way I tend to use hubs myself; I’ll blatantly delete all doors and place teleporters there instead.
As a treat, and for the sake of organization, maybe there could be a bunch of “injectable symbols” packs instead. For example, ones can inject the ettin desert symbol; it would just be a slapped on image ones can move around. To place above the door leading to that metaroom. Hmm, there could even be an empty “slot” in the background for such icons.
Or... the injectable doors could have a "button" upon them; if clicked, the two linked doors will both change room symbol. Easy to tell with door leads to where. But that's much more coding XD
Or... the icons could already be present within the room. Each valve could have a button, and by clicking it, it shuffles through room icons.
Just random thoughts! The way it is right now is great too, no changes is "needed" so to say; I'd use it like I've used other hubs, by deleting doors and place teleporters ^^ |
