This a little thing I've been wanting to do, make norns in C2 more biologically realistic!
Here are some of my ideas.
1: Very high or Very low temperatures can be fatal!
If a norn is really warn it will sweat! If warm for too long it dehydrates. To little water in the body will cause death! I'm not too sure how to make to little water kill the norn...
At low temperatures, the major organs slow down (heart, lungs, brain functions) thus leading to death.
2: Introduce bladder
Just as it says make a bladder organ. Also change kidneys so they maintain water levels more carefully...
3:Having an illness for too long causes severe issues.
If a norn is ill it could die from two things. Too much glucose being used up to heal or Antigens raising temperature can cause death as outlined above.
4: Old age death?
In animals, we don't die because of a gene that tells us to! We die of old age, because our bodies are damaged by chemicals called free radicals. So, in the norns body, throughout life free radicals increase slowly and damage organs.
These are what I have so far but any suggestions would be good

I think these are very good ideas, but C2 norns are already pretty prone to death, so it might be wise to make them a little more robust, generally, in the process.
Norns can already die from too little energy, so water shouldn't be that much of a problem. And I think C1 norns weaken by old age, instead of just dying, so you could have a little poke around in their genomes for ideas. It is a little different though as they don't have organs. |

I don't think I'll do this with C1...
And how is water used in the energy system? Cause I'm not sure
Maybe I'll only make extreme temperatures cause death. Like if hotness was at 225 or something?

The death from heat will be gradual? |

I wasn't suggesting you do it in C1, just look at their genomes for examples of gradual death by ageing.
I can't remember exactly how water is used in C2 creatures' systems, all I know is that there is a "thirsty" drive. But I'm inspired to research it myself. |

I wish someone could make C3/DS norns thirsty... -.- What kind of biological system doesn't need water... *grumbles at CL*
Aaaanyway, might I say that I love the fact you're doing this to C2. I wish more people would develop for it again. |

Thanks moe. And yes, death from heat will be gradual. As will death from coldness.

Ah! Good! I was afraid a norn would wander into the desert and drop dead instantly! I'm curious how water works in Creatures 2 systems, so if you find out, do let us know! |

Oh, by the way, I have made a small post in my blog under science about water in creatures. You may be disappointed -_-
And comment on it in the science comments if you wish

I think I might have posted twice? Not sure what happened there.. just add the 2nd one, it's more brief. |

You didnt post twice, at least, not from what I can see...

I posted a comment on the science thingy. I tried to post it and then I signed in but it looked like it erased the post so I posted again :/ Anyway, you have to approve the comments. |

Oh! Sorry, I thought you were referring to this thread
I'l check them now
EDIT: Nope, you only commented once so its ok, and I like your idea!
EDIT2; I have researched about Urea and this is what I discovered.
When amino acids are used for energy, ammonia is produced This is a very bad chemical. The condition hyper ammonia is caused when ammonia is present in very high concentrations. This includes many (Bad) symptoms. I have narrowed it down to ones possible in norns. Hypothermia (which in these norns will cause death), lethargy (increase in sleepiness and tiredness), and liver failure (basically the liver clockrate goes down to 0-10%). I guess that some organ damage may be possible also?
In Creatures 2, urea is harmless! While in us, urea can build up to high levels for some reason can damage organs. When ammonia is produced, it is converted into urea which then goes through the kidneys to get extracted from the blood, then in our urine in the bladder. If one of these were to fail, say the bladder or kidney, ammonia and urea would build up causing death. I like this cause, in the current norns, if kidneys failed then it would have virtually no effect.
EDIT3: Just an idea, maybe I could introduce a viability lobe where the creature learns to make more reasonable decisions, what do you think?
EDIT4: Ylukyun, I have erased the info from my blog because of changes I am making but to answer your questions, anything you wish can be based on my Rnorns
