I know this is a complicated question, but...
Is there a way to use CAOS to tell a pre-existing object to use a different sprite file than the one it initially used? For example, say that I want to change the way the carrots in my world look, but I want to do it without replacing the carrots I already have. Is that possible to do?

Carrots aren't what I actually want to replace, they're just an example. I know a lot of updates and such have you just switch out the original file from the Bootstrap folder, but then whatever changes you've made become the default unless you decide to change it back. I just wanted to see more choice--the object starts out normally when the game is created but I can change it if I want to.
Besides that, the specific object I have in mind can't even be deleted. Which means that if I change the default, I don't have any way of switching back for any particular world; if I decide I don't like what I've done, I will have to start over fresh with a completely new world.
So it's possible, but in this case it's just kind of inefficient. That's why I was asking.

I'm afraid that that's not possible. If you change one thing, everything changes for that agent. You could create a new agent. Going by your carrot example, you could take the carrot cos files and simply copy them and make a new carrot type, with different image files and so on. You'd have to manually inject this, unless you really got into the caos.
