I've been looking at the markings on the C3 ettin eggs, and had an idea (well mostly it came from Eco Mono's fantastic VUK ZIX idea) to make up a whole Shee written language. Sound stupid? :B Because even if you guiez think so I'm giving it a shot.

...That looks less like the alien languages than I thought it would.
I don't think this is a stupid idea. On the contrary, I think this is very awesome.
ETA: I also see the angry rabbit. XD
You have to be honest with yourself when you are writing. If that leads to somewhere unexpected then perhaps you really needed to go there.

...Ahahahah, I see the angry rabbit too!
This is fun stuff, I've actually been working on a sort of language myself (though not for Creatures, just my own worldbuilding ideas).
Creating the script is the easy part (or at least, much more fun), what's hard is actually trying to build up an entirely new vocabulary/language/grammar system. But we could forego that part, or perhaps gradually morph it over a long, long, LONG time.
The concept of a sort of secret creatures language is pretty cool though. I have to wonder how it would be used if it was developed though, since it can really only be expressed in images, unless someone wanted to construct a font file for it. I suppose people could use it in signature images and avatars and stuff

Linguistics is a fun, if not ultimately confusing, field. Good luck.
As far as morphology and grammar go, I'd imagine Shee would be something like what British English would develop into if they were cut off from other cultures for a few centuries. |

Don't think you would really need new grammatical rules. Norns, Ettins and Grendels start out "baby speaking" with the same set of rules we use... which reminds me of what some psychologists are saying about human development, that babies have prewritten "templates" on how language should be pieced together, and then their experience with the people around them defines which rules they use. Norns, Ettins and Grendels clearly have such a template, so I would think that would be a good starting point. I could see the Shee simplifying their own languages, but don't think they would make up a totally new language for their creations.
