One day, I was reading this thing about GeoBears. People sent them out to someone who was traveling, and attached a note telling them to give the bear to someone else and to log where that person was going. Then, the person gave the bear to someone else, and on and on and on until the bear finally returned home (they attached an address to their school.) So I was thinking, 'Hey, why not do the same thing with Norns?' And that's how I got the idea for Travel Norns. Basically, you write a note in the Norn's description telling them that the Norn is a Travel Norn, and wants to see the world, and would they please send them through the Warp again after resting for a bit in their world? Then, you would tell them that if something happened to the Norn, they should send a message back to you, and include your username, along with all the worlds it has been to. Soo... What do you think? Is it a good idea? Can you touch the stars? Then you must be an Astro Norn... My Creatures DS username is the same as this one. PM me if you want to connect! |

I've heard of something like this before. The forum that Dani, a friend of mine, (of The Frog House fame) visits has a 'mascot' teddy bear called Harley Bear Junior. The idea is that Harley Bear travels around the world and visits the forum members who want to take part in turn. I was at university with Dani when it was her turn for Harley Bear to visit her, and she spent ages filling out an entry in the little journal, that accompanies him on each visit, with stories and photos of all his 'adventures' during his stay. It was cute.  It could work with a 'CC.com Norn', and it would be easier with the use of DS. Although, saying that, I don't know about it having as much of an appeal as Harley Bear, who is a real stuffed teddy bear... It would have to be one special Norn.  |

What if we made it so that it was a different color? And then we adjusted their genome so that they were more resilent to disease, ect. Oh, and maybe it has no natural homing instincts, so it just likes to wander around the ship, like a traveler. These are just ideas; I haven't thought it through very much. Can you touch the stars? I actually tried to start something like this once. I would send a norn out and tell the person to put their username in the desc. Didn't work too well. The person who got mine sent it back after putting his name in, so I had only one name. Do not upset the ugly worm, lest it be a dragon in disguise. (>oo)> |

Uhh... this would backfire as soon as you hit a world that was receiving but not sending. |

I think it would work if the Norn was only sent to users who wanted a "visit". Like, if a list was compiled and warped to each person in turn. They'd just have to make sure they're able to both send and recieve. |

hang on guys, are we talking about a REAL bear? somehow i have this mental image of someone giving a grizzly bear a backpack and a map and wiping a tear from their eye as he sets out on his journey... if we're not the change we want to see if we're not the change, who will be? |
