Ettin Beach remake?

I'm sure you know the Ettin Beach metaroom, right? Half-underwater room that was never finished, let alone even got any CAs? About half a year back, I decided that the concept was enough of a wasted opporitunity to warrant remaking. You know... bigger and better! An ettin-friendly AND water creature-friendly room with all sorts of unique agents!

I finished a small fragment of the foreground elements and the basic geometry of most of the background when I ran into a problem. Several, actually.
And all those problems sum up to: I don't know how to do this.
I opened the .psd file with my puny amount of progress just recently. Even though I'm sure I can finish the background myself given a good amount of time, I just felt far too daunted to take the rest of it on myself...

So that's why I'm turning to the lot of you. Do you have "natural" terrain photoshopping/modelling experience? Do you have Photoshop/modelling experience in general? Do you have CAOS/metaroom creation experience? Then I probably need your help. If all else fails, this might end up being some massive collab event that ends up somehow tying into this year's CCSF...

Here's what little I have along with the notes, assuming the link works.
So yeah... discuss.

I'm afraid I can't help you with code stuff, but art and to a minimal extent, 3d modelling? yep!

From what I've seen from your progress, you look like you're doing good though<3 So you may not even need an artist! In the meantime though maybe I can at least link some useful things?

Map editor: I had to ask in lost download detectives because the original site is down, there's backup here!

If by some miracle it works, there's some metaroom tutorials here!

Putting texture onto things in photoshop here! this is super basic, and you can also access default photoshop textures using the bucket tool and clone stamp tool (which can also become a pattern stamp tool). Not necessarily useful but might be handy for making certain objects or parts look natural/realistic, like bark or sand. c:

Sculptris: A free 3d modelling program. Not the best or perhaps most useful, but you need no official training whatsoever to play with scultris, as it's just a matter of messing with the buttons until you find the tools you like! You're probably(?) not going to be able to make full scenes or scenery in it, but you may be able to design and photoshops some nice props for your room in it! I think there's a download here!

If you're using sculptris: Yes, you CAN keep using the reduce slope until you get negative slope. Yes, it looks weird.
Do not continue to reduce slope once it goes negative.
After about 10 seconds of constant slope reduction from 0, it crashes.
Leaving it slightly negative does not crash the program, it just can't handle large negative values.
(It's not actually called reduce slope, I just can't quite remember what it's called. It's something that logically shouldn't be able to go negative.)

I actually find Blender more intuitive than Sculptris, Sculptris is like working with clay, which I can't do in real life or virtually.Blender is hard to describe, at the very basic level it's like working with building blocks, but at the same time it's very much it's own thing.

If you're familiar with gimp or photoshop though, I'd kind of recommend you stick with that in order to get the best results the quickest. It's best to learn something new for it's own sake, not just so you can get something else done.

On the topic of ettin beach, I believe someone else was trying to finish it?
