The correct one is butter flavored syrup.
Alternatives will be reviewed under heavy scrutiny. |

Keep the dough neutral and then throw in some cut salami, ham and cheese while it's in the pan. One might think it would be like pizza, but it isn't. Tastes pretty good.

Depends on the pancake.
Regular pancakes: strawberry jam or butter and sugar spread on top
American pancakes: either some kind of syrup or jam
Ovenpancake: if it's baconbits or other fatty porkmeatbits in I would say lingonberryjam or raspberryjam, without meat in it I would say strawberry jam
Crepe pancake: mushrooms in gooey sauce
Pancake-cake: strawberries and icecream

Butter and real maple sugar/syrup, (none of that fake stuff) melted and stacked as high as your stomach can take it.

Oh, I've never tried American pancakes. Apparently they're cakey and made with sugar? Sounds like I'd love them too. :3 |

They are also very very thick |

not sure what the difference between american and non-american pancakes is - though I do know that I make mine quite a bit thicker than the serving size (eg. '1 cup makes 3-5 pancakes' -- more like 1 or 2 in reality) on the box, and a touch (not a pile) of salt+sugar+vanilla is basically mandatory. I'm american, probably.
I didn't know there were so many ways to prep them other than crepes, which are lovely, but I don't quite have the finesse to make them reliably on the pan.
Scrutiny is ongoing. |

In the UK they're technically crepes, but we call them pancakes. |

oh yeah, I suppose I should clarify that for me a 'crepe'=very thin 'pancake' usually unflavored (ie. no vanilla) and has a light/sweet filling, like fruit/whipped cream. |

In Sweden too, but they are sliiiiightly thicker than crepes here, it's barely noticeable, especially when you make them both at home. If you eat them out on a fancy restaurant you can tell the crepes are thinner |

Put chocolate chips and apple butter into the batter. put it in a bowl so it is shaped. scoop vanilla ice-cream, strawberries, and fudge syrup on top. I call it... THE FRANKENCAKE! mwahaha.

Sugar and lemon juice, I've always had, although banana mixed in with the batter is nice.

What is lemon juice in pancake like? I'm allergic so I can't try it, but I'm given the impression since it's so acidic it changes the composition of it somehow? Or does it just taste good? |

Usually lemon juice is just drizzled over the pancake itself. At least, that's how I've always had it with pancakes. Add sugar too and it compliments the lemon juice really well. |

Yes, sort of sweet and sour at the same time. Mmmm.

I often drown my pancakes in butter maple syrup. Literally. Until the whole thing is soaked all the way through. So unhealthy, but way too delicious to care. ![[nblush] [nblush]](/images/smilies/emot_blush.gif) |

Have you had sour gummy worms? Lemon juice and sugar is sort of like a toned down version of that, on a pancake.
