Hello!
I posted in the gallery some concept art for a norn breed based the on the archaeopteryx a little bit ago and I just wanted to give everyone a place where they can see updates to it a little better. I am working on it but I've hit a bit of a bump in that I decided to see what it would look like with alternate colors and now I just can't choose one!
I have too small a group of friends to give me a reliable feeling vote count so I wanted to ask you guys, too. The alternates are here.
So far the vote count is as follows:
(#1 being the original concept)
#1 - 0
#2 - 6(for female color)
#3 - 5
#4 - 7
#5 - 1
Thanks ! |

It was a really tough choice, but I have to go with 4. its so detailed! The portrait looks really visually interesting with that coloration.
I also really like #2, maybe that could be the female coloration as it's more neutral?

Are we allowed to vote for more than one, because I really like 2 and 3. I think #2 in particular could be a good design for the female archaeopteryx; the brown, white and grey colouring reminds me of a (female) mallard duck!
EDIT: Haha, MisterPeaches! Great minds think alike. |

Haha, maybe I'll just cut two out and use it as the female since it's such a great idea . |

Some breeds of birds have very colourful males and very drab females, so it could work like that?

I have considered that color scheme and I was going to make more colors but I didn't want to make too many D:. I may make more but I have such a hard time choosing already. |

#5 has the best shape and I think it's drawn the best, but I prefer the coloration from #3 |

I like the idea of #2 for female and #4 for male! c:
The others are really great, but 2 looks the most earthy and natural to me and like it would fit in with the creatures setting, and 4 is cool without the male looking too much like an existing bird like a bluejay or a parrot!

Pretty much settled on #2 for the female since it's popular and there's no votes for a different female color so I am going to start working on those and let the votes run a little longer for the male color. |

I vote for #5 for the male. Reminds me of an African Grey parrot. ![[ngrin] [ngrin]](/images/smilies/emot_grin.gif) |

#3 for male, #4 for female. I like #4 best!

#3 for both males and females.
(There's some research that female birds have begun to evolve more colorful, male-like plumage, btw.) |
