I'm using Windows 7 and I'm having a lot of problems with this program. At first it wouldn't open at all. After installing some missing file from the Microsoft website, I got it to work, but it wouldn't connect to the game. At this stage I found a post somewhere telling me to run registerocx.bat, so I did and got an error about one of the ocx files. Now if I try to run the program I get an error saying tabctl32.ocx is missing. I can open it in compatibility mode for Windows XP, but it gives me a type missmatch error, and it's obviously broken:

When I try to connect to the game in any way, the game gives me a direct draw error and the world file becomes corrupt so I have to restore it from the backup folder.
Any ideas?
Failing that, I was wondering if someone with a working copy could run Autoscript for me. I need the egg laying scripts for creatures and the scripts for the eggs themselves, and I'm not sure how else to get them out of the game. Hopefully I can use some other program to edit them. |

Is tabctl32.ocx actually missing from your BobCob folder?
Also, where did you get this version of BobCob? The one I downloaded (non-install version) came with the tabctl32.ocx file already present. |

Download the version of BoBCoB from Amber's Creatures, then unzip the file to the Creatures folder. Should work fine then. |
