Strangeo Forum So how about that Steven Universe?    Small Birb Pann        3/22/2015  1 Season 1 just ended and boy did it go with a bang! I'm very much looking forward to season 2! How about you guys? Do you like Steven Universe? Who's your favorite characters or gems? You can post art or writing if you've made any! I'd just love to talk about it because ohh man, it's my favorite cartoon right now. I love how the show has so many strong female characters and diversity. I'm so happy for kids who get to see this on TV and see representation for themselves, and of different races! My favorite gem is Garnet, but Pearl comes in on second. Even then I still love everyone. Human wise, I really like Connie, and Steven is such a good kid. I love the background art too, the songs, just...well everything! I only got into it sometime early this month or very late last month (I don't remember,) and only one episode until I wondered why I didn't start watching it sooner. Part of the reason I decided to check it out was because I'm interested in the idea of aliens, especially ones that aren't carbon based (I don't think Gems are, at least.) I like all of the characters, even the villains. -GrayDragonEmily   Code Monkey evolnemesis   3/22/2015  1 I only saw a couple of episodes until recently, when I heard a lot of people talking about some of the more recent episodes , and binge watched what there was of S1, just before the last couple of episodes came out... and what episodes they were... My favorite characters are probably Garnet (she's so cool), Onion (just because he's super creepy), and Amethyst (even if she does never commit to being the crocodile) I have to say this show really grew on me... I really like the music, the singing, the characters and their diversity, the writing, the interesting takes on old tropes... really a great cartoon. One of my all-time favorites... even with such a cutesy, childish, super-optimist kind of main character that Steven usually is, the type of character I would usually hate, they did such a great job giving real depth to him and the other characters, that even he really grew on me. I really liked "Strong in the Real Way", "Rose's Scabbard", and especially the last 3 episodes of the season with the gems capture and escape ("Stronger than You" really gave me tingles) and then how everyone dealt with the situation, and aftermath... How Connie got Steven to drop his 'lone hero' funk was really touching. I'm really looking forward to more of this show. "For small creatures such as we, the vastness is bearable only through love." I need something new to watch!   Small Birb Pann     3/23/2015  1 Steven Universe is about this young boy named Steven who is half human, half gem, which are basically these alien people who are based off various minerals. Three gems, Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl are his guardians and teach him how to use his powers. They also all stop trouble that closes in on where they live, called Beach City! I hope the various backstory hints get expanded on sometime soon because it looks like there's some really interesting stuff planned. Opal and Malachite are definitely my favorites. in the spring you gotta let the flowers fully blossom
