I'm proud to announce that the 12 Days of Creatures Christmas begins today at Breeders Beware!
This is an online advent calendar, except instead of having little chocolates inside, each window contains a special Creatures goodie. Come back every day from December 14 to December 25 to find a new Christmas-themed agent for you to download!

Day 1
A decoratable Christmas tree!
This tree comes with Christmas ornaments (pictured) and animated lights (not pictured) with which to decorate the tree. Food items can also be used. I recommend the popcorn from Laura's Petz Treat Pack or MK's candy canes released during the 2008 CCSF, but literally any food item can be placed on the tree as a decoration. You want a tree with carrots on it? Or maybe you're dreaming of a "cheesy" Christmas? Go for it!
There is also a Creatures-y Christmas carol in the agent's in-game description. Just because.

A Christmas tree that you can decorate with food items? How cool. A number of Christmas tree COBs and agents have been made, but this one adds something a little different. Speaking of the Petz Treat Pack, the cotton candy makes good tree ornaments too. They look kinda fuzzy, like tinsel.
Thanks, Ghosthande! The community is certainly getting spoiled rotten this year! |

Day 2
A toasty fireplace!
The idea for this one actually goes back to Albia2000. If you click the fireplace, it cycles through three "styles": brown stone for Norns, tan for Ettins, and gray for Grendels. The Grendel one comes with an... interesting decoration above the mantel. ![[ntongue] [ntongue]](/images/smilies/emot_tongue.gif)
Objects can be placed on the mantel for safekeeping (or just for regular decoration, whichever you prefer). The fireplace will also incubate nearby eggs.
Most of the 12 Days releases build off each other... it's not required, but you'll probably want to have the fireplace before you download tomorrow's release.

My dad thought I said tasty fireplace. That... Actually sounds quite delicious. Hang on, I'm gonna go eat a fireplace.

Why not? Fireplaces have to taste better than elevators, I'd think.

Day 3
Stockings!
If you have the fireplace in your game you can hang these stockings on it. You can also hang them wherever else you feel like putting them.
What would stockings be if they didn't come with stocking stuffers? The stockings vend different things depending on what Creature type uses it. It also vends something when the Hand uses it, but I won't say what just yet, since it ties into tomorrow's release. ![[nwink] [nwink]](/images/smilies/emot_wink.gif)

Day 4
A snowman!
No, the stocking does not vend coal for the hand because Santa Norn thinks you've been naughty. It gives you coal because you now have a snowman to decorate with it!
Click on different parts of the snowman (or little icons that appear below him) to swap out different decorations. You can keep him completely plain or try on different hats, scarves, and vegetable-based facial components.

Day 5
A rocking horse!
This rocking horse toy is fully animated: baby and child Norns and Ettins can get up on it and ride it while it rocks back and forth. Grendels and Geats are too big to ride on it, but can still have fun making it rock.

Day 6
Presents!
I have to admit, in a way it wouldn't be Christmas without having to wait to open your presents. So, today you get some wrapped gifts that aren't openable until the 25th.
This won't be true of all the remaining downloads, but you should have a pretty pile waiting under your tree once Christmas Day comes around.

Hehe, how did you manage it so that the presents can't be opened until the 25th? Is there some clever CAOS trickery involved, or will their contents be revealed on Breeders Beware on Christmas Day? |

I just assumed that a release on the 25th would be some sort of "open presents" agent.

and then there's the one in my world which has somehow gotten cups of soup and jars of honey stuck to it. |

It's the soup from the Petz Treat Pack, too, so it dwarfs the tree. Just, few lights, some honey, holiday baubles, and A GIANT MUG OF SOUP right on top. Very strange. |

Not to be a downer considering the final present's release, but it appears two of the agents included in the final gift have the same classifier as two agents in Devil's Reef (to be specific, the Norn and Grendel nutcrackers share classifiers with the Strange Stone and Jewels, respectively). This results in a rather nasty catalogue clash error when one has one and tries to install the other.

They really do! I'm going to have to start hanging honey pots on my own tree from now on!

Well, today's the last day. Once you have that last gift in your world, let your Creatures go to town! ![[nwink] [nwink]](/images/smilies/emot_wink.gif)
@GM: please PM me with more specifics?
Jan 1st or so I plan to compile them all into a "super pack" for easier future downloading, so I'll fix it by then at the latest.

I've uploaded a fixed version of Day 12's agent.
Anyone who is seeing catalogue errors because of this agent can fix them by going into the Docking Station/Catalogue folder and deleting "gxmas_day12.catalogue".
